Marks the first anniversary of me meeting another b3tan in the real world. Champagne's on me!

( , Wed 22 Jul 2009, 19:20, 94 replies, latest was 16 years ago)

* makes a virtual clone of the real Champagne I had on Friday *
* shakes bottle *
* launches cork *
* pours Maladicta a glass *
Did anyone see where that cork went?
( , Wed 22 Jul 2009, 19:24, Reply)

*quaffs champagne at much the same rate as she did on Saturday*
*flashes badge* Now, will YOU give me discount? I was told I got 10% off there and I don't.
( , Wed 22 Jul 2009, 19:27, Reply)

* is hypnotised by the flashing badge *
Let's see - 10% discount on free champagne is still free.
* pours another glass *
( , Wed 22 Jul 2009, 19:33, Reply)

Spak - just give her the bottle and put her in a corner.
( , Wed 22 Jul 2009, 19:47, Reply)

I was hoping that it would help the spazzflailing... in retrospect it made me more hyper than I was already, and I was like a kid with ADD and a giggle.
( , Wed 22 Jul 2009, 19:49, Reply)

My first meeting with b3tans was 15th August 2008, and the most recent last Saturday. Am now not going to be able to come on Saturday :( has a sad.
( , Wed 22 Jul 2009, 19:37, Reply)

Met her a few hours before this bash where I met some more b3tans.
Pity about Saturday. I'm thinking of going but may only be able to come for the day-part.
( , Wed 22 Jul 2009, 19:39, Reply)

I spent a lot of money in London last weekend and there are still two weeks till pay day :(
Clenders was the first b3tan I met too! And Wookiee.
( , Wed 22 Jul 2009, 19:41, Reply)

in the first year of my uni course some 5 years ago. I live in Leeds now so it should be easier to get to bashes
( , Wed 22 Jul 2009, 19:45, Reply)

Never did I think I would be so pleased to see a reletive stranger! So very friendly and helpful to a lost soul in the middle of heartless London (yes, I was pissed by the point they turned up).
Also, due to monetary enema's at the weekend, I am also not making an appearance on saturday. Which sucks.
( , Wed 22 Jul 2009, 19:47, Reply)

I may try cycling there and just staying for the day-part.
( , Wed 22 Jul 2009, 19:50, Reply)

*still in love with her new coat*
I'm a cheap date.
( , Wed 22 Jul 2009, 19:51, Reply)

If I remember rightly, I got the skirt down for you!
( , Wed 22 Jul 2009, 19:59, Reply)

Remind me not to go anywhere near that stallholder next time we go, I completely forgot that if you look up hard sell in the dictionary there's a photo of him...
"Only stall that has this style" ahahahaha.
However, I would like to award you an Oscar for your exemplary bullshit mode.
( , Wed 22 Jul 2009, 20:02, Reply)

Hers of course was popped by Kaol, who was b3tacherrypopped by ancrenne who was done by BGB.
( , Wed 22 Jul 2009, 19:48, Reply)

BTW: I got my b3tacherry pin sharpened in April when I met blaireau69 on my way down from Edinburgh.
( , Wed 22 Jul 2009, 19:55, Reply)

It was hazy in a nice kind of way. A bit like swimming through a swimming pool of win. Did managed to b0rk myself on the way down though.
( , Wed 22 Jul 2009, 20:00, Reply)

But I was very drunk by the end and can't remember much.
( , Wed 22 Jul 2009, 20:01, Reply)

big girl's blouse ↔ ancrenne → kaol → clendrix → mistaspakkaman → blaireau69
→ Maladicta
The double-arrow means that BGB and ancrenne probably popped eachother's cherries.
Anyone care to expand this to include all bashgoers?
EDIT: Added Maladicta (unless the font screwed up, she should be under me).
( , Wed 22 Jul 2009, 20:05, Reply)

Er... I'm too busy trying to remember all the b3tans I've met.
Pot, Clenders, Wookiee, ancrenne, MM, Axai, DiT, Kaol, Beckyletters, jamesthegill, wanderlust... er...
( , Wed 22 Jul 2009, 20:28, Reply)

Was Wookiee, but that was before I was a B3tan. Second was Clendrix, ad then I went to the August bash last year and met loads of people.
( , Wed 22 Jul 2009, 21:03, Reply)

Could I get a large glass of vodka instead please? I'd kind of like to be a little bit drunk untill the end of next week....
( , Wed 22 Jul 2009, 19:37, Reply)

@Fredz: Did you bring in a virtual drink?
( , Wed 22 Jul 2009, 19:45, Reply)

And a bottle of wine. Alcohol is an important part of a balanced diet after all! How are y'all this fine wedensday?
( , Wed 22 Jul 2009, 19:49, Reply)

To go with my Caramel Digestives that I've been distinctly underwhelmed by. I was so looking forward to a Kit-kat but alas we only have these Digestives.
It is absolutely pissing it down outside which makes me enjoy the evening even further!
( , Wed 22 Jul 2009, 19:56, Reply)

You're right though, it is actually upsetting that something so potentially awesome could be so sickly...
( , Wed 22 Jul 2009, 20:01, Reply)

I was rendered so distraught by their shitness when I tried them that I had to go and eat half a pack of chocolate hobnobs as an apology to my tastebuds.
Then I felt a bit sick. But hobnobs ftw!
( , Wed 22 Jul 2009, 20:06, Reply)

Fancy some champagne to go with your biscuits?
( , Wed 22 Jul 2009, 20:06, Reply)

That would be marvellous. Tastes a bit shit though but that's not the point is it!
*reaches back for the buckfast*
( , Wed 22 Jul 2009, 20:09, Reply)

Spak, I was thinking about that today, trying to remember the exact day.
Happy Anniversary :)
( , Wed 22 Jul 2009, 20:06, Reply)

I popped another b3tan's cherry this month too.
I'll drag everyone down, you watch.
( , Wed 22 Jul 2009, 20:09, Reply)

* gives a big hug *
I've still got some Champagne left. Fancy a glass?
( , Wed 22 Jul 2009, 20:08, Reply)

I somehow managed to smuggle many bottles of virtual champagne from a place where I was given real champagne last Friday.
( , Wed 22 Jul 2009, 20:16, Reply)

It was fun.
We had thai food and sweat(ed?) a lot.
( , Wed 22 Jul 2009, 20:19, Reply)

Is this TRL or cackers or someone who's met either of them? If so, you're part of our b3taweb.
( , Wed 22 Jul 2009, 20:25, Reply)

( , Wed 22 Jul 2009, 20:32, Reply)

we may or may not be nodes of the same b3ta-web. Neither of us know for sure.
( , Wed 22 Jul 2009, 20:41, Reply)

Yay for me rest day tomorrow and nice tradesmen types are coming to build me a new front room .. Huzzah!
I feel that's worthy of Champagne rather than the workaday beer I have atm. Everyone OK?
( , Wed 22 Jul 2009, 20:19, Reply)

this better hadn't be like that time in Rhodes where i went for the free champagne and ended up buying 6 holiday villas...
( , Wed 22 Jul 2009, 20:22, Reply)

* opens second bottle of champagne *
* once again watches cork fly through window at great speed *
Is our collective imagination powerful enough to conjure up a virtual holiday villa? Or does it just do food and drink?
( , Wed 22 Jul 2009, 20:29, Reply)

can you see it???
( , Wed 22 Jul 2009, 20:32, Reply)

I think you've accidentally activated your Hex-vision and burned a hole through the photo with your laser-eyes.
( , Wed 22 Jul 2009, 20:42, Reply)

hope i didn't burn you there.
my focus is a little off today...
( , Wed 22 Jul 2009, 20:56, Reply)

but I think you may have hit that second champagne-cork that flew out the window. Am still not sure where the first one went to.
( , Wed 22 Jul 2009, 21:00, Reply)

Can't seem to fart...
( , Wed 22 Jul 2009, 21:05, Reply)

I'm always naked at home. And whenever possible in public. Always.
( , Wed 22 Jul 2009, 21:14, Reply)

I was toying with posting Glass of Champagne by Sailor ..... Thought it may be taking the theme a little far though.
( , Wed 22 Jul 2009, 20:49, Reply)

as I was in the same pub as his Birthday Bash back in February and wished him Happy Birthday.
The first bash I deliberately attended was the Cackers bash 2 weeks later.
( , Wed 22 Jul 2009, 20:21, Reply)

so technically, we merged two webs of b3tanness.
( , Wed 22 Jul 2009, 20:31, Reply)

I was considering popping my bash cherry on sat, unfortunately going to go and shoot my friends instead (going airsofting for the first time). Any Oxford based bashes after october and I'll be there though (workload dependant).
( , Wed 22 Jul 2009, 20:27, Reply)

There's a guy in my office who's really into airsofting. Is it like Paintballing with more varied and realistic weapons?
( , Wed 22 Jul 2009, 20:56, Reply)

Some realistic, some less so (apparently at the place we're going tomorrow someone occasionally turns up with a "flamethrower" which consists of a modified Henry hoover).
If I enjoy it I'm definitely going to try and do some more, a bit of a trek to get there, but gives me an excuse to go stay at my mate's in Bournemouth.
( , Wed 22 Jul 2009, 20:59, Reply)

Most of the time I either spend hiding behind obstacles or getting my visor misted up. Went for the second time a few weeks ago at my mate's stag-do where he was dressed up as a baby.
( , Wed 22 Jul 2009, 21:18, Reply)

since the shots are affected less by the wind (faster speed, lower surface area), at least that's how it seemed when I had a go with my friend's gun. Not sure how it will be when under fire though.
Likely to come back purple anyway seeing as the side effect of one of my medications is that I bruise more easily.
( , Wed 22 Jul 2009, 21:23, Reply)

If it's the lightweight balls, they won't drop much but will be affected by the wind more. If you're using heavyweight balls, you won't get the range as they'll drop sooner, but you'll get better accuracy over the shorter distance as they won't be affected by wind as much.

EDIT: Oh cock, it's a hoax. False alarm. Carry on.
( , Wed 22 Jul 2009, 21:39, Reply)

I'm still too scared by the idea of impact of paintball on sensitive ladyparts ><'
( , Wed 22 Jul 2009, 21:48, Reply)

out of practice thinking about physics, just spent the last couple minutes working out if all was right with that or not.
[pedantry](it almost is, the heavier balls take the same time to drop (neglecting aerodynamic effects, since I'm only in my first year), but go less far due to moving slower in the first place)[/pedantry]
Going to an urban course anyway, so shouldn't be too much wind either way (unless I'm out in the open, in which case I'll not be alive long enough to notice due to being crap at running)
( , Wed 22 Jul 2009, 21:55, Reply)

You can't really see the speed difference, and I couldn't be bothered to be correct. Plus, we've proven my physics wrong on this board many many times.
( , Wed 22 Jul 2009, 21:59, Reply)

I spent most of GCSE hearing about what my physics teacher wanted to do to various hot and not so hot women...
( , Wed 22 Jul 2009, 22:05, Reply)

I spent GCSE hearing about my teacher's various trips abroad, his band, and anything but the subject. Then spent A level laughing at very CDC-like diagrams and playing a web game my friend made*, and somehow still learnt enough during the 5-10 minutes of actual teaching to do it as a degree. Absolutely legendary teachers.
*which I will be shamelessly pimping once the new version comes out, the old one is broked at the moment
( , Wed 22 Jul 2009, 22:16, Reply)

It was only me in the class and my teacher rocked, so each lesson was tea, gossip, and for the last twenty minutes "yeah, you should probably do this Catullus for me."
( , Wed 22 Jul 2009, 22:20, Reply)

I have discovered something that has upset and disturbed me. On sunday the Vulcan from RIAT flew overhead. If I had been at home, I would have seen this. I demand an apology!
