What do you sing along to when no one is home because you'd die of embarrassment?

For me, it's selections from Chicago, as long as it's loud enough to drown me out!

How many of the DK's are still alive?
Jello certainly is although he wants nothing more to do with them.
(, Thu 23 Jul 2009, 19:47, Reply)
I'm just a little bit too young to have seen many of the bands that I grew up with in their finest.
I've seen Devo, 999, Crass, and, by getting away from a funeral after a phone call, the one and only original line-up Damned reunion.
A DK reunion would be splendid.

But I like music from the punk era, and anything else that catches my ear
(, Thu 23 Jul 2009, 20:06, Reply)
And could make you weep!
I was at the last ever gig of the original Echo and the Bunnymen (Liverpool Royal Court, December 1988.)
I've seen The Clash (Lancaster University 1982.)
I wasn't at LiveAid - because I was at Act/Propaganda at Glasgow Barrowlands that night.
Any more?

Let me know how 41 feels.
40 wasn't a problem but 41 is a lurch into another decade.

I will sing anything, anywhere, badly.
I've been walking around work today singing "Just a spoonful of sugar" from Mary Poppins.
Possibly because there are very strong suggestions now that we have a buyer and we may not all be getting made redundant in January.
(, Thu 23 Jul 2009, 19:42, Reply)
But credible rumours.
And if the rumours are right we'll be going into good hands.
This was always going to be my job until I retire - I only started with the company 4 years ago but finally, at nearly 41, I've found a job that I really enjoy.
More to the point, it might mean that we can keep the staff too.

I work for Grattan/Freemans.
You can no longer wank over the underwear pages in the catalogues, because there won't BE any more catalogues.
(, Thu 23 Jul 2009, 20:08, Reply)
Maybe the reason for this is that as more and more people discover Internet pr0n, the need for underwear catalogues has become reduced. Yet another forgotten victim of progress...

I've let good people go and maybe we'll need them back again.
Nothing about this entire process makes me feel good.
If I've taken anything out of this, it's that being management is hell.
(, Thu 23 Jul 2009, 20:25, Reply)
Was once involved in a small start-up that failed. If there's anything I learned out of that experience, it's the role that upper management play.

Not really worth dying of embarrassment over, but whenever a housefly invades my work-area when I'm at home, I end up whistling the first few bars of the Nutcracker Overture.

I'm a fan of the Angel, one of the little ones off Brigate. Sam Smiths so it's dead cheap and an interesting mix of students, oldies and the rock type crowd.
Fab Cafe for a late night as well. £2 in, shit beer but open til three and the music's really good.
(, Thu 23 Jul 2009, 21:05, Reply)
Am meeting Fuckarma for a couple of beers on the 14th of next month. Friday night I think it is - starting at the Angel if you fancy it.
It's the little side street beside Fat Face on Brigate.
