What's your favorite spice?
Mine are chillie flakes.
OK, not really a spice but they come in a spice jar and I keep them in my spice cupboard. I put them on my pizzas and with crab and spagetti and various other meals where I can.

Doughnuts, in coffee, and on rice pudding.
Now I wish I had some to eat as well.

I'm addicted to chillis. They're the best thing I've ever put in my mouth.
I've got a soft spot for cardamom, cinnamon, paprika, cayenne, mace, nutmeg, tumeric... Anything pungent and interesting.
Failing that, freshly ground black pepper on everything. Especially cheese on toast.
And I've recently become the proud owner of an 8" bay tree, whose leaves I use in many, many dishes.

Have a couple plants in the greenhouse for taking to uni, one of them is especially great since instead of going from green to red it goes from black to red, so makes the food look awesome.
Also paprika, turmeric

And add them to most things, but I'm a huge garlic fiend. Everything is better with extra garlic.

I love chiles. I used to live in New Mexico and every fall there would be farm trucks parked in the shopping center parking lots with long strings of dried red chiles. There would also be people roasting chiles on the street and the smell was incredible.
I probably have 15 different types of dried chiles, chile sauces, chile paste, hot sauces, etc at home.
I also love garlic and garlic mixed with chiles makes a great sauce.

Can't go wrong at all.
In fact I love freshly ground black pepper (and salt of course) on my chips.
