(, Thu 20 Aug 2009, 13:02, Reply)
I know,
But its totally worth it.
(, Thu 20 Aug 2009, 13:04, Reply)
And much deserved, obviously.

(, Thu 20 Aug 2009, 13:05, Reply)
I'm not smug about that sort of thing
I got a B, a C and a D for my A-levels. mostly through not doing any work, but still...
(, Thu 20 Aug 2009, 13:07, Reply)
*tries to salvage some smugness*

It's alright we know you managed to get your awesome house and hot girlfriend without the use of an academic mind.

And we don't resent your having them at all.
(, Thu 20 Aug 2009, 13:10, Reply)
haha
didn't say I didn't have an academic mind, just that I'm incredibly lazy.
My main philosophy is to get good at things so they take less effort. That, and taking the path of least resistance.
(, Thu 20 Aug 2009, 13:11, Reply)
I think that's the first time I've inferred you're smug
It'll probably be the last. I don't usually jump on bandwagons.
(, Thu 20 Aug 2009, 13:12, Reply)
good for you
the annoying thing is that it has made me realise how fucking smug I am.
(, Thu 20 Aug 2009, 13:18, Reply)
As an aside
Fucking result - Somehow I've convinced her mum to go down and collect her. Whoop! Next time I swing by Exeter I'll give you a shout.
(, Thu 20 Aug 2009, 13:22, Reply)
good job
yeah, do it. Same goes for other b3tans as well. If I'm not about, Kaol and Al have my number.
(, Thu 20 Aug 2009, 13:24, Reply)

Nicely done!

Are you ever going to be faithful to me for more than 5 minutes.
(, Thu 20 Aug 2009, 13:26, Reply)
he can't, he's a slag
he needs a fistful of medication to keep it in his pants.
(, Thu 20 Aug 2009, 13:34, Reply)
Well done
was one of them General Studies or were they all proper subjects?
(, Thu 20 Aug 2009, 13:04, Reply)
One was general studies.
But I got that for talking about X-men mutations and Soundgarden.

The rest were hardcore, man subjects.
(, Thu 20 Aug 2009, 13:06, Reply)
I have strong opinions on the use of general studies grades to big up yourself
But i'll let you off this time. Congratulations, hope you're having a massive booze up tonight.

Are you going straight to Uni or taking a gap year?
(, Thu 20 Aug 2009, 13:09, Reply)
Thanks.
I am, but I've only got enough money to get drunk OR get home.
Drunk wins, obviously.

Straight there, freshers starts on the 21st September.
(, Thu 20 Aug 2009, 13:13, Reply)
So you'll have been in The Queen of Hearts and Robinskis by the 22nd
and then every night for the next year.
(, Thu 20 Aug 2009, 13:16, Reply)
This sounds likely.

(, Thu 20 Aug 2009, 13:18, Reply)
fucking well done.
Seriously. :D
(, Thu 20 Aug 2009, 13:05, Reply)
Well done.
It's not going to be easy out there in academia.
(, Thu 20 Aug 2009, 13:13, Reply)
Well done!
Where are you out tonight, you going to be in Manc or the back of beyond?
(, Thu 20 Aug 2009, 13:15, Reply)
Thank you :)
I want to go into Manchester, but I'm already going to a friends 18th in Crewe that I can't get out of.
How did you do?
Looking forward to Leeds?
(, Thu 20 Aug 2009, 13:16, Reply)
Ahh lame
Let me know when you're in town, though!

I got ABB with Merit in AEA History (and an A in GS - the proper A was in Latin) but I'm having the two modules of History that I got an E in remarked. I'm gutted about Greek though :( I didn't work at all last year, so not bad for no work!
(, Thu 20 Aug 2009, 13:19, Reply)
Yeah, will do!
Bit skint at the moment though, so it might be a couple of weeks.

Congratulations!! That's really good, especially if you did no work last year :)
(, Thu 20 Aug 2009, 13:34, Reply)
Congratulations to you too.

(, Thu 20 Aug 2009, 13:58, Reply)
Woo and motherfucking yay!
Well done you :)
(, Thu 20 Aug 2009, 13:20, Reply)
congratulations!
I didn't even muster 4 A's in GCSE.

In fact I got 2 B's and 2 C's, the rest just tailed off down the alphabet like a guilty mumbled apology
(, Thu 20 Aug 2009, 13:30, Reply)
I got ABCD for A-level :)
in order being French, German, Latin and General Studies (couldn't be arsed).
(, Thu 20 Aug 2009, 13:37, Reply)
Sounds like my GCSEs
B CCC EE FF UU

:-)
(, Thu 20 Aug 2009, 13:38, Reply)
Congratulations
now get drunk and stupid.
(, Thu 20 Aug 2009, 13:39, Reply)
back from your tryst?

(, Thu 20 Aug 2009, 13:40, Reply)
yes it was very funny,
she looked like she'd dressed up for today, she was wearing a dress and had product in her hair. I doubt it was for our meeting but...

BUT: she had a mug with a bible passage on, put me right off.
(, Thu 20 Aug 2009, 13:43, Reply)
hmmm
that would be off-putting

was she ever so grateful?
(, Thu 20 Aug 2009, 13:45, Reply)
She just sent me an email saying
"Thanks for explaining helped a lot."
She loves me.
(, Thu 20 Aug 2009, 13:48, Reply)
clearly
she is powerless to resist. What's your next move?
(, Thu 20 Aug 2009, 13:50, Reply)
do some work,
I'm not going to go chasing her round the office.
(, Thu 20 Aug 2009, 13:52, Reply)
I'll cancel the benny hill music
*sadface*
(, Thu 20 Aug 2009, 13:55, Reply)
Dammit!

Congratumalations
I'm surprised there's no grumbling about them not being proper A's and being easier than in our day. I would never dream of doing such a thing, of course.

I got 2 A's and a C, and got a grade 2 on the Chemistry Special Paper.
(, Thu 20 Aug 2009, 14:50, Reply)
I would challenge anyone who says that
To do the Core 4 Maths paper I did. And then see if they can still say it was harder in the good old days.
(, Thu 20 Aug 2009, 14:57, Reply)
ha I've got an MEng in Civil Engineering
which was mostly maths, and I'd struggle with a GCSE maths paper, and suspect that most other engineers would too!
(, Thu 20 Aug 2009, 15:01, Reply)
I've got a B.Sc in Maths
and I suspect that without a good run-up I'd struggle with GCSE level.
(, Thu 20 Aug 2009, 15:50, Reply)
congrats!
I didn't do A-levels, but that's only because I'm from Scotland :-)
(, Thu 20 Aug 2009, 14:54, Reply)
Way to go!
Well done!
(, Thu 20 Aug 2009, 15:33, Reply)
1 E
In general studies here. Never did me any harm.

2x U
I did a GNVQ and failed that, did an extra year to complete it and took an A-Level and A/S at the same time.

I still failed the GNVQ, got U's for the A and A/S yet still got in to Uni. I failed Uni (Foundation Course -1 year)) so resat and failed, As a result of this I went off to do a HND which I failed.

I'm not really academically minded but it was fun trying!
(, Thu 20 Aug 2009, 16:13, Reply)
Well, if we're totting-up
A/B for English Lit/Lang GCSE
C/C for two combined Science GCSE
E/E/F/G/U Maths, Geography, Music, Design & Tech and something else I can't put my finger on, although in what order I've no idea
One half of a Business Studies A-Level completed
Six months on a YTS-style day release at Aylesbury College doing business studies before I realised what a shithole it was

I'm *definitely* not cut out for sitting behind a desk being told what to learn. I've always been a learn-as-you-do person.
(, Thu 20 Aug 2009, 16:31, Reply)
Late. Been out all day, so sue me.
3 Bs =D
Considering this time last year i got a B and 2 Ds, i'm chuffed.
Well done everyone else by the way! =)
(, Thu 20 Aug 2009, 18:21, Reply)
Felicitations!
Did not do any o' them fancy A-Levels or GCSEs. Did the European Baccalaureate instead.
