I've got a PowerEdge 1850 Server here. 4GB Ram, 120GB disk, 2x Intel Xeon Dual core CPUs

I don't want it and I need to sell it. It's £3k when new, but im selling it for £500.

Know anyone that wants an industry grade server on the cheap?

I am lovely to him, always,
but I also know his wants and we can't afford to go spending £500 on a server and just need to remind him of this before we have to go through his in-depth 5-page, 3-year, heavily-macroed spreadsheet budget - all. over. again. God, I was dreaming about Excel functions for 4 frickin' nights after the last incident.

I sympathise with him over the bowling. Bowling is tedious. If you want to knock things over, use your feet. Or a sledgehammer.

Host my own websites and stuff. It proved to be extraordinarily useful. I love having it, but now I've moved all of my stuff to datacenters so i have no need for it :P

My personal sites, mainly..
And a few other select people.

www.thewallapp.com is the main one right now, its still under development though.

I also host my own SAN (RAID5 volume basically). Backup service and a few other bits and bobs. Its just to prevent me paying billions on hosting at a datacenter.

'Cos the graphics card in it is pants.

I fucking love Poweredge Servers. It might not be able to run doom3 but it could host a shitload of quake servers and not even break sweat.

You're right though, some shitty little graphics card because, well, you don't need to run graphics on a server...

They are fecking awesome though. It's a beast. I've managed to run about 20VM's on that box without a slowdown. They're really awesome
