thank christ.
I was thinking only yesterday how good it has been that this really annoying contract guy hadn't been in work for a couple of months. What do I see when I arrive this morning? The very same tosser's gay hairdressers car parked in the car park.
This day was already shaping up to be dull and long, now it's going to be shit as well.
I didn't watch question time last night cos I was at band practice. I've read some views on it below, but I need to hear more from people with more ridiculous viewpoints.
also, how are you?

It's Friday. I've never been so glad to see a Friday. A whole two days of no work, lots of rest and quality time with kiddo.
I'm fucking stressed, but getting through. I like this new me.

what did that idiot griffin say about the KKK?
glad there's a new you and it's a good one. well done

Might finally work out where kiddo's living over the next few days, which'll most likely lead to a house move, social support and a new, stable start for us both.
I didn't watch Question Time but I saw snippets of it on Sky News this morning. It looks like he made himself out to be a professional idiot, or at least a gifted amateur.

stability is an excellent thing.
that was the desired outcome. Will have to have a butchers at the news later on

I can't bloody wait.
Yippee!
Only one thing missing to make it perfect but hell who wants some guy sat next to me and hiding behind a cushion when the scary bits come on.
Edit - And I'm friends with everyone.

Mrs V is still at home with flu, and I need to think of some films to get her to download for watching tonight. The only one I could think of was the latest harry potter....
any recommendations for recent films that are good? Nothing to strenuous on the brain, or heavy going.
(, Fri 23 Oct 2009, 9:36, Reply)
It's a vampire movie.
I've also recently watched The Loop, which was very funny.
(, Fri 23 Oct 2009, 9:40, Reply)
And my 43-year old chick-flick-loving lady mate loved it too.
(, Fri 23 Oct 2009, 9:56, Reply)
That's pretty good.
Eden Lake is also hghly recommended. I'm a big fan of horror and I've NEVER watched a film that shocked me as much as that did.
EDIT: And 'Strangers' - that was also a bit freaky. Mum & Dad is worth a watch as well.
I think that's all for now.
(, Fri 23 Oct 2009, 9:57, Reply)
vampires, zombies and werewolves aren't very scary though, so I love those sort of films
(, Fri 23 Oct 2009, 9:58, Reply)
Not that I dislike fictional 'monsters', but I much prefer a horror with a sense of realism or a 'supernatural' plot (Ring, Shutter etc)
(, Fri 23 Oct 2009, 10:00, Reply)
I prefer fictional monsters, but don't like the more psychological, supernatural stuff.
(, Fri 23 Oct 2009, 10:01, Reply)
Hee Hee. In that case I'll recommend Wrong Turn 2 as its simple, gory fun, and Outpost for its Nazi-Zombie-Ghost goodness.
(, Fri 23 Oct 2009, 10:13, Reply)
It's Swedish I think, but meant to be very good.

*puts on list*
I love all horror films. Even the crap stuff.

Unfortunately a mate told me the entire plot, which has somewhat ruined it for me. I'll still give it a watch.
I'm considering Universal Soldier tonight, as a mate is coming down, and he's never seen it!

I think James would probably cry if he watched it, haha.

They've made a film of the book, 'The Road' by Cormack McCarthy.
Can't wait to see that.

but yes, should make a good film.
Enjoy your evening !

what was that film with Angeline Jolie, and the bending bullets?
is that any good?
(, Fri 23 Oct 2009, 11:04, Reply)
No, it's totally fucking gash. I'd rather stab myself with Biros than watch it again.

Style over substance mindless unbelievable plot line sheer entertainment. CGI is good and the stunts ok.

and have concluded that they are all fucking awful.
The fighting is pretty cool, but it gets really over the top, and from the word go in the first film the acting and dialogue is some of the worst tripe ever to enter my dainty earholes.
(, Fri 23 Oct 2009, 11:16, Reply)
It was fucking dreadful, I'm embarrassed that I saw it in the cinema
(, Fri 23 Oct 2009, 11:21, Reply)
don't watch it
I find the first one awful now too.
Equilibrium is a much better film.

he jumps through a locked door as the police shoot out the locks with shotguns, then he just lands in the middle of a dark room and all the sense offenders are shooting at him like 'pee-ow' 'pee-ow' 'bakkabakkabakka', but they all miss and the room flashes with every shot, and then they stop shooting and it goes quiet and dark for a second, before he stands up and shoots them all like 'BLAMBLAMBLAMBLAMINTHEHEADMOTHERFUCKERBLAM'

that all the left leaning liberals and politically aware conservatives think he's a cunt. I bet he didn't know that.
I also thought it was entirely pointless since all the retarded sun reading cunts who voted for his party will read about it in the sun today, or get told about it by their mate who can actually read the sun, rather than just looking at the tits, and they will still say the same thing "Fucking Immigrants coming over here, THE COUNTRY IS FUCKING FULL AINT IT FAAAAAAAACKIN PAKI IMMIGRANT POLISH CUNT FUNNY SMELLING GETTING MY JOB COUNCIL TAX ITS ALL BOLLOCKS AINT IT FAAAAAAAAACK"
So, for a nice middle class chap like me who keeps up with politics and listens to arguments both for and against immigration it was fun. As a way of "exposing" his views it was utter gash.

but can I also recommend 'MONGOL'. It's alovely film and has lots of splattery blood in the right places, beautiful settings and is a cracking little film.

It actually has quite a lot of funny moments, if a bit shouty.
Also, Jack Straw comes across as pissed at the beginning.

The same discussion, with same participants, without audience members would make for much more interesting viewing.
It was all a bit to 'heated' to be anywhere near a fair debate, and the clowns outside certainly didn't help matters.
(, Fri 23 Oct 2009, 12:25, Reply)
It just appears strange because you very rarely get to see a debate where one party has a completely indefensible stance.
The problem with it is that, as some chap on the telly said this morning, there are three types of people who vote BNP: Fucking stupid racists; People who don't understand politics; and people who feel let down by the other political parties.
Bashing Griffin wont affect any of those groups, and the first two groups do not comprise that many people and probably aren't worth bothering with as there will always be some people like that.
But if the main parties were to actually engage the third group on their fears and demonstrate that they are actually unfounded i.e. we are not being over run, we are not a "full" country etc. then you can get them to engage in mainstream politics and not to vote extremists with no policies into power.
