My non-b3tan housemate is moving out in the first week of January, YES, get in there, I've wanted him out for over a year, but I finally had the self condance and yadda-yadda-yadda to ask him.
So, if anyone needs a room in london, some say the "beverly hills" of north london, send us a gaz.
YIPPY !
obligatory Question: Are you happy with your living arrangements?

I love my rented flat, but I recently saw a house for sale down the road - a quirky 2 up/2 down terraced house with a balcony and bare brickwork, and a little yard which has a perfect space for a hammock and maybe some chickens ...and went to see it despite it being probably £75k out of my price range. I want it so badly that I would happily sell a kidney to get it. Undoubtedly some other fucker will snap it up in the next few weeks and I will be very sad. Boo :(

And bearing that in mind, I'm quite happy living in this tiny studio-flat in the wilds of Outer London.

In fact, I made an offer to buy the place, I like it that much.

A couple I know recently split after buying a house earlier in the year.
The one is trying to get everything into her name and when she does she might offer a room to me.
Depending on how much she wants, of course, I will probably move in. It's a huge house but my room would be relatively small

Even if getting college requires a journey through the horror that is Bank to Monument. Got the trip down to about 25 mins, not too bad.
I do like where I live. Right blend of out-of-the-way and near to all the important stuff.

Or did you do a full orbit round the Circle Line?
(, Mon 2 Nov 2009, 21:58, Reply)
Northern Line comes into Bank, I have to walk (underground) to Monument to get to the Circle/District lines. It's annoying, but I'm used to it now.

I even have some french doors, despite living on the 3rd floor. And space for many musical instruments.

which I share with my girlfriend and no one else.
What's not to be happy about?

when have had "the conversation" tonight but she's staying under my roof until she gets another place.
So, tonight I'm in the spare bed.
In my own house.
Not best pleased. Oh well.

Nothing official yet but I've made the big decision and started the social services ball rolling. Next is housing etc, then legal which'll be a bloody battle I'm sure... But we're on our way. Whoop!

Although in (fairly dire) need of some *cough* cosmetic updating, buying it remains the only sensible thing I have ever done. Since I bought it, its value has more than doubled, leaving me free to rack up debts that would otherwise terrify me, or indeed anyone. Me and my fat cat live very well together and thought of having to share with anyone ever again is not a nice one.
My sister married into a multi-millionaire watercress farming family and is thus entirely mortgage free. However she's had some awful shit happen to her (kidnap, rape and subsequent HIV infection, anyone?) so am nothing but pleased for her. She's just happy to be living at all.

What with my lesbian mum, thrice-married father and alcoholic brother we'd make an interesting documentary. We used to be a perfectly normal middle class family once.
Ain't life GRAND?

I have lesbianism, multi marriage, alcoholism and rape in my family too.

where was she living Sarf Ifrica? That sounds horrendous.
On a lighter note, how did the 'anthrax' go down...or up, as the case may be
(, Tue 3 Nov 2009, 9:00, Reply)
Doing volunteer work for their National Theatre. The whole thing has made me a terrible racist, I'm afraid. The fucking cunts.
Anthrax was excellent. Not as strong as some I've had but a pleasant diversion from the solicitor's letters and cat shit, which is what i came home to....

and i can understand your desire to chop up a few darkies by way of revenge.
On a stinkier note, as much as i love my 2 Maine Coon cats, their arse fur regularly grabs a hold of any excretia that isn't rock hard...They then become mobile shit spreaders and it really does my fucking tits in. The other morning i awoke, bleary eyed after 3 hours sleep to a collection of shit stains that i was i lucky not to stand in.

Come back in ten years and it will probably be the same except I will have a new cooker.

My house is pretty shit. Because it's an end terrace, we have no right angles in the entire house (no really, not even one!) This means that we can't put tables or other furniture into the corner, because it looks shit.
It's so cold that on bad days you have to drink your tea/hot chocolate/lemsip within 5 minutes, or it'll go cold. I have some damp in my room (not much at all though).
We have a front door with cracks in it, you can see the sun come through on bright mornings.
Regardless of this, my housemate is ace, most of our neighbours are cool, and we have cracking parties! We would move, but neither of us could find a way to get the money together, and sadly we're both already in fairly chunky debt to the parents, so they can't really help out!

Huge house, excellent housemates, good area, close to everything I need. And it's cheap. Couldn't ask for better.
Who says Wakefield is bad?
