I just realised!
It's Enzymes Birthday today. Lets all wish him many happy returns. Leave your birthday greetings for the big man here and I'll tell him where it is so he can read them and get a lovely warm glow.

I'll start. Happy Birthday Enzyme!

Happy birthday to you
Happy birthday to you
You look like a monkey
And you live in the zoo.

Well you don't really look like a monkey but you do live in Gorton which could be counted as a zoo.

I feel I should wind him up
with a birthday missive that includes a flagrant misuse of a phrase like "begging the question," but I've lost the fleeting burst of inspiration I had this morning. So I'll just have to go with offering Mr Enzyme my most joyous sentiments on the anniversary of his having been successfully squeezed out of his mother's netherparts.

Happy Birthday Fella!
I'm jealous of someone so manly that they get to share their birthday with International Men's Day
(, Thu 19 Nov 2009, 13:11, Reply)
I'm more about celebrating
the anniversary of the consecration of Pope Hilarius.
(, Thu 19 Nov 2009, 14:41, Reply)
Happy Birthday Enzyme...!

I'm going to buy you a neck brace to help you cope with the weight of your humungously gargantuan brain.
(, Thu 19 Nov 2009, 13:16, Reply)
It's shrinking with age now.
Hold back a while and there'll really be nothing left.

(, Thu 19 Nov 2009, 13:28, Reply)
with mabazaritchie's tastes I'd have thought they'd go for an indian
or moroccan
(, Thu 19 Nov 2009, 13:48, Reply)
I heard he's a real fan of Gulash
and other eastern european stews.
(, Thu 19 Nov 2009, 13:49, Reply)
sorry
I realise that Gulash is in fact a soup and not a stew. So fuck you.
(, Thu 19 Nov 2009, 13:50, Reply)
it's also spelt goulash

(, Thu 19 Nov 2009, 13:50, Reply)
see the end of my answer above

(, Thu 19 Nov 2009, 13:52, Reply)
understood

(, Thu 19 Nov 2009, 13:53, Reply)
I was going to try and make the argument about goulash being a transliteration
but it's Hungarian in origin (I think) and they use the roman alphabet so it isn't at all.
(, Thu 19 Nov 2009, 13:54, Reply)
Actually
"The name originates from the Hungarian gulyás" (taken form Wikipedia, I know it's probably a lie) so actually Gulash would be the more logical spelling.
(, Thu 19 Nov 2009, 13:55, Reply)
Hungarian
is a shitty language. It's related to Finnish and Estonian but no other western languages. And it's a bugger to understand.

Paprika is nice though. Which is just as well, as the Magyars put it in every dish.
(, Thu 19 Nov 2009, 13:55, Reply)
Nor is it related to a good number of non-western ones.
Yer Sanskrit, Punjabi, Hindi, Urdu, Pashtu, Farsi, even Tocharian... all of 'em Indo-European.

But the Hungarians just had to be different.

might be what biochemists would refer to as an Enzyme inhibitor!

Sorry, that was a pish attempt at science humour

that actually made me do a proper laugh. But my feet didn't move a bit.

(, Thu 19 Nov 2009, 13:51, Reply)
No, but I do really want another cup of tea
which in turn will make me need a wee.
