I have a genuine question
So, you're at a restaurant and there is a dish comprising sliced beef served on a bed of rocket with cheese shavings on top. You don't like rocket and so ask for it to be served with potatoes. The dish turns out to be rather bland as the combination of peppery rocket, cheesy cheese and beef is really the key to this dish.

Can you complain that you don't like it as if it's somehow the restaurants fault?

wind your neck in,
and eat it up, then push a AAA battery down your cock by way of a punishment.
(, Wed 2 Dec 2009, 13:31, Reply)
AAA?
pussy. 9 volt is for real punishment
(, Wed 2 Dec 2009, 13:32, Reply)
if you order something and don't like it
then that is not the restaurant's fault anyway. less so if you have asked for them to change their dish
(, Wed 2 Dec 2009, 13:31, Reply)
That's what I thought
this wasn't me either, it was someone I was with, luckily we managed to get her not to moan by giving her bits of our dinner. It has to be said the original dish wasn't actually very interesting either, but without rocket and cheese it was just oily beef and potatoes, they should have just said no, but I guess the customer is always right.
(, Wed 2 Dec 2009, 13:33, Reply)
I figured it wasn't you
because of this bit "as if it's somehow the restaurants fault"

also, you're not that stupid.

it doesn't sound particularly interesting. was it carpaccio sort of thing?
(, Wed 2 Dec 2009, 13:36, Reply)
if you decide to customise a restaurant's dish
and in doing so make it shite, it's your own stupid fault and you should shut up and eat it, whilst cheese-grating your bell-end.
(, Wed 2 Dec 2009, 13:36, Reply)
And being punched in the face by the chef for fucking up his signature dish.

(, Wed 2 Dec 2009, 13:38, Reply)
This is true
It was pretty crap restaurant actually, I wouldn't recommend it.
(, Wed 2 Dec 2009, 13:39, Reply)
I was in Needoo's last night
Mmmmmmmmm
(, Wed 2 Dec 2009, 13:42, Reply)
It's pretty good isn't it
Lamb chops are definitely not as good as Tayyabs, but the other stuff is right tasty.
(, Wed 2 Dec 2009, 13:46, Reply)
I could eat the seekh kebabs night and day
Fucking marvellous. Overall the dishes are less hot than round the corner aren't they? I'll be inclined to take my less hardcore friends there as a first choice over Tayyab's for that very reason, but given the choice, for my palate, Tayyab's still wins. An honourable second place though.
(, Wed 2 Dec 2009, 13:50, Reply)
Problem is
people are idiots. Just because they've got someone who is customer facing and therefore can't openly tell them they're being a twat, they think that they're correct a lot more often than they actually are.
(, Wed 2 Dec 2009, 13:40, Reply)
^ this is the most correct thing I have read in some time

(, Wed 2 Dec 2009, 13:42, Reply)
Nope,
that's what you get for being a fussy eater.

Plus there's pepper on the table I assume.

Is this a thinly veiled allusion to an OT thread?

Crumbs
I haven't done any shopping, I need money for that, precious money... roll on pay day on the 18th! :D
(, Wed 2 Dec 2009, 13:46, Reply)
mid-month payday must be shit!
I aimed to get mine done with payday in the middle to spread the load from one month to the next. has worked out ok.

still need to give money to people for things I'm chipping in for though :-/
(, Wed 2 Dec 2009, 13:48, Reply)
It is a bit pants but ho-hum
Well done for getting yours all sorted though, that's impressive stuff! :)

Ah 'chipping in' that is a pain, you sort of forget about it, spend all your money and then panic when people ask for your share! :S
(, Wed 2 Dec 2009, 13:54, Reply)
yeah, it is a pain
but it's not too much money, so not too bad
(, Wed 2 Dec 2009, 13:59, Reply)
Hello!

(, Wed 2 Dec 2009, 13:42, Reply)
Hey!
How's it going?
(, Wed 2 Dec 2009, 13:44, Reply)
Pretty good
I've recovered from Saturday night. I was quite rude to your husband, but he forgave me. He's a nice chap like that.
(, Wed 2 Dec 2009, 13:45, Reply)
Rude how?
Did you forget the lube?
(, Wed 2 Dec 2009, 13:46, Reply)
I made rude comments about his mother
and the things we got up to while helping you move. But he took it in jest as was intended. I just felt a bit guilty on sunday as I thought I may have cross a line somewhere.
(, Wed 2 Dec 2009, 13:48, Reply)
'Berting', that's called.

Where is Bert these days?
has he been banned / naughty stepped again?
(, Wed 2 Dec 2009, 14:02, Reply)
He's been banned apparently
not sure what for, but I think CR3 has blocked his IP so he can't make a new account.
(, Wed 2 Dec 2009, 14:03, Reply)
I did wonder...

(, Wed 2 Dec 2009, 14:04, Reply)
Monty says it wasn't him
and he had most cause. so unless someone was white-knighting, then it wasn't for that
(, Wed 2 Dec 2009, 14:05, Reply)
Pity.
Whilst he did overstep the mark a fair bit, I don't think it was ban-worthy.
(, Wed 2 Dec 2009, 14:07, Reply)
I imagine it was another
white-knight episode.
(, Wed 2 Dec 2009, 14:13, Reply)
me too
and he had been banned a number of times before
(, Wed 2 Dec 2009, 14:16, Reply)
This is true
I don't know what he was banned for previously, I'm sure there were legitimate reasons behind it, but it does seem that recently people are getting pulled up for things which are clearly just jokes and nothing malicious... I just don't really get it.
(, Wed 2 Dec 2009, 14:20, Reply)
I don't think the mods are to blame
it's the gimps who are gazzing them. people being overly sensitive, which is not at all in the spirit of b3ta
(, Wed 2 Dec 2009, 14:26, Reply)
Ah what I meant is that
other B3tans are pulling people up for jokes and are telling the mods its a problem when its quite clearly just people being overly sensitive.

If anyone ever said anything to me which I found in bad taste I would tell them as much, rather than try and get them banned, its loco.
(, Wed 2 Dec 2009, 14:32, Reply)
I agree
we should fuck their shit up.

edit: before someone complains too much and Al gets banned
(, Wed 2 Dec 2009, 14:34, Reply)
Yes
I concur.

(, Wed 2 Dec 2009, 14:42, Reply)
Aww bless
I'm sure he didn't take it to heart, panic not! :)

I'm annoyed that I couldn't come along. Instead of partying I sat on the floor at home with a paintbrush and a hot water bottle. Boooo.

I was fearing you for watching it

(, Wed 2 Dec 2009, 14:06, Reply)
it's quite amusing, saw it years and years ago
it's soft(ish) porn in badly-dubbed kung fu style

guy with tiny penis gets a horses one grafted on instead. Goes round pleasuring women, ends up shagging the wrong person's wife, gets made to shag the horse-wife of the horse who's knob he has.

meanwhile, his wife turns into a prostitute in a high class brothel. one of the things she learns to do is write with a paintbrush inserted.

it's quite amusing.

plus the bit with two women and a flute is entertaining
(, Wed 2 Dec 2009, 14:11, Reply)
bandcamp?

(, Wed 2 Dec 2009, 14:17, Reply)
yeah
but two asian women, one flute
(, Wed 2 Dec 2009, 14:18, Reply)
I wouldn't worry.
I think he texted the 'come dancing' joke to his mother earlier.
(, Wed 2 Dec 2009, 13:52, Reply)
You didn't seem that bad on Saturday night
In fact you appeared perfectly sober, apart from the very loud singing along to Highway to Hell.
(, Wed 2 Dec 2009, 13:50, Reply)
very loud signing?
hands flapping together, that sort of thing?

True
*nods head*
(, Wed 2 Dec 2009, 14:05, Reply)
I'm quite glad this is the case
I do remember screaming a bit to "Run to the Hills". I think it must have really hit me once I left the pub, it took me ages to find a bus stop for the N20, which makes no sense as my bus stops at every stop on Camden High Street.
(, Wed 2 Dec 2009, 13:54, Reply)

Yes you can complain, as that is not what you ordered. It would seem to me, in the first instance you should send it back - you asked for potatoes not rocket. And as such you expect a plate of potatoes, cheese and beef, no rocket.
