Dear
Simon Cowell & Joe McWotsit,
If I wanted to listen to a shite Hannah Montana song, I would simply listen to Hannah Montana.
Regards,
dchurch.

as much as it pains me to admit it
I watched some of the X Factor, mostly because my mrs likes it, but also in part because some of them weren't actually too bad.
any one of the last few would have been better than that fucking Hollyoaks reject.
also, that Stacey bird from Dagenham? So unbelievably stupid that it transcended stupidity and I think I love her.

someone made an interesting point on here yesterday
and that was that sony get the money for Rage just as surely as they get the money from X Factor.
haven't checked to see if that is true, but it kind of spoiled it for me.
also, I checked the itunes chart yesterday, and Killing in the name was conspicuously absent

Yeah both singles ultimately are owned by Sony
but RATM said they would donate the profits to Shelter.
It's not really about money anyway, it's about some kind of musical integrity, I wouldn't mind so much if Joe was any good, but he's not, he's decidedly average.

some of the other finalists had some personality at least, but he is just another singer with the same sort of voice doing the same sort of songs, which is the last thing we need.

They are 1st on Play.com with the album version
and third with the single, this could ruin it's chances or will they conglomerate?

That Stacey bird
was ok providing she didn't stop singing. By christ she was annoying.
Mind you I watched the last couple of weeks with Mrs Sandettie, but she Sky-plusses it each week so we can skip though the yapping and all the bollocks and just listen to the performances.
Olly should've won, he was the most entertaining by a country mile. Robbie Williams has admitted he's not the best singer in the world, but what he can do is entertain a crowd. Olly is the same.

Agreed.
My ten year old daughter is a keen X-Factor fan and is going (with her mother) to the X-Factor Live nonsense next year.
A message to Simon Cowell - you, sir, are a corrosive influence on the minds of the young people of the United Kingdom. Music should not be battered down to some form of the lowest-common-denominator to be turned into a bland, MOTR, inoffensive ridiculousness. With you at the helm in the 1980s, we'd never have had Frankie Goes to Hollywood, or Erasure and I fear that Eurythmics would also have failed to attract sufficient attention in the form of profits for you and your employers.
In the words of Mr Richard Curtis and Mr Ben Elton "I hope that your mother dies in a freak yachting accident".

Hasn't 'popular' music always been a bit shit?
I seem to remember the 80s being 'Stars on 45' and 'Agadoo'.

I dont mean to sound like a smug twat (well, perhaps I do)
but I have found that not watching shite telly and/or reading tabloid newspapers, is an excellent way to avoid mediocrity and keep the blood pressure down.
There is so much talent out there, you just have to look for it.

True
However it would be nice to not have to look soo hard sometimes, I'd like to flick on my crap analogue radio in my car and not have to listen to wall to wall pop/r&b on radio 1 etc. Yes I could listen to Xfm, but only in london and they still play Scouting for Girls for god's sake!

I've found Radio 5 makes me a bit less angry
except when they're asking simpletons to phone in to demonstrate how stupid they are. I don't *think* that's what they actually ask people to do but it might as well be.

I find this approach works pretty well for me too
I don't listen to the radio, I don't read the tabloids, I don't know which celeb is fat/thin/having it off with another celeb... and I'm happy and junk.
Look, I'll prove it...

The reason why the new single is a Miley Cyrus song
Is Cowell wants to pimp 'Wee Joordy Joor' out to Disney in the US, thus making him the next Jack Ifrom off of Senior School Singalong.
Cunt.

People aren't organised enough. There are already about 4 facebook groups for the cause, and I bet half of those people buy it from somewhere that doesn't count towards chart sales.

Stand
up.
It does count if they paid more than 39p for it to the supplier.
They can charge what they like (and take a loss if they please) - the rule only applies to distributers.

At a push, 1987.
That was the last year before Christmas number ones became cack. I'll give you 2 Become 1. Yeah, I'll give you that.
And although I think Sound of the Underground is a good single, it's not a good Christmas single.
