Enough about bloody snow.
Fashion thread!

I think this year I will be wearing mostly slim leg jeans. I have the leg length to suit them and I'm too old for skinnies. Boot cut are sooooo last year.

Where in the pool of fashion will you be dipping your toe this year?
(, Wed 6 Jan 2010, 11:13, 80 replies, latest was 16 years ago)
I'm not at school today,
As it's snowing.
So I don't get to wander around in a labcoat.

Nice to see you again.

I'm still alive,
But gotta go now.

I'm gonna have to learn how to make clothes on my Singer
The shops don't have too much of my 'thing'.
(, Wed 6 Jan 2010, 11:17, Reply)
Ooooh sewing ones own... how very fancy!
What is your sort of thing my lovely? I remember your urban elf outfit being all different kinds of wicked! :D
(, Wed 6 Jan 2010, 11:18, Reply)
Urban elf yo lady!
Well those jeans are pretty mainstream for me, and I enjoy them a lot, but I dress more unfashinable normally. I like polka dots and gingham and tight cardigans. I prefer to either dress like a waitress in a diner, or a boy from the 70s. Depending on my mood.
(, Wed 6 Jan 2010, 11:31, Reply)
I was hoping that was your look...
I have just the shop for you...

They have wicked stuff, lots of polka dots and gingham! Hazah! :D

Cheers dude!
(, Wed 6 Jan 2010, 11:38, Reply)
No worries mrs

OMG! I want everything on that site!
(, Wed 6 Jan 2010, 12:09, Reply)
I've learnt to make machine cord
using my machine.

Made 4 metres of it out of plastic bags last night, but I suspect that won't be a fashion movement this decade
(, Wed 6 Jan 2010, 11:18, Reply)
What is machine cord?

(, Wed 6 Jan 2010, 11:41, Reply)
cord made from strips of (normally) material
twist them together and zigzag sew along it. Might post a pic in a bit
(, Wed 6 Jan 2010, 11:50, Reply)
Ooh yeah go on

(, Wed 6 Jan 2010, 11:58, Reply)
OK, here's a pot made from weaving a material based cord

(, Wed 6 Jan 2010, 12:04, Reply)
Or a sling to carry your cats and herbs

(, Wed 6 Jan 2010, 12:05, Reply)
The cats are already
comfortable in their authentic ethnic woven basket made from copies of the guardian and green party fliers

I shall not be partaking in the current trend of shoulder pads
but I shall be getting into this 'pretty grunge' look at the moment that involves a lot of layers of knitwear in dusky pinks and greys, its rather prettyful! :D
(, Wed 6 Jan 2010, 11:20, Reply)
If I wore shoulder pads then people would mistake me for an American footballer.

(, Wed 6 Jan 2010, 11:22, Reply)
Hut hut hut!

(, Wed 6 Jan 2010, 11:23, Reply)
*tackles*

(, Wed 6 Jan 2010, 11:40, Reply)
I have relatively little shoulder
and so the shoulder pads would just slip off and be arm pads
(, Wed 6 Jan 2010, 11:25, Reply)
This is the same problem I have
I don't really think they need accentuating anyway! :)
(, Wed 6 Jan 2010, 11:27, Reply)
Well there are lots of boys on here...
How many of you think "Phwor, nice shoulders!" of anyone?
(, Wed 6 Jan 2010, 11:40, Reply)
Oi
Al, Chompy, Mr Tights... opinions on shoulder pads please?
(, Wed 6 Jan 2010, 11:47, Reply)

I don't get asked...
(, Wed 6 Jan 2010, 11:54, Reply)
Apologies
I didn't see you there! :)

Bugger about your parking ticket, that sucks!
(, Wed 6 Jan 2010, 11:56, Reply)
speeding ticket
even worse than a parking one.

these things happen though. what particularly galls me is that I didn't even notice the van at the time.
(, Wed 6 Jan 2010, 11:58, Reply)
Balls meant speeding ticket
Aww its a shitter indeed, how many points is that on your license then?
(, Wed 6 Jan 2010, 12:03, Reply)
those will be the first 3 ever
I'm not too bothered about it really. just need to slow myself down in future, which will take some effort.
(, Wed 6 Jan 2010, 12:07, Reply)
Ah buggeration
that's crap. Yeah you're right you'll just have to be more careful, its easier said than done though! :(
(, Wed 6 Jan 2010, 12:08, Reply)
yeah
the fine is more of a bugger. don't have a spare £60. I just bought a cooker!
(, Wed 6 Jan 2010, 12:10, Reply)
I like that look,
it gets my seal of approval.
(, Wed 6 Jan 2010, 11:28, Reply)
Jolly good
I think its quite a flattering look on most girls! :D
(, Wed 6 Jan 2010, 11:32, Reply)

she looked very hot.
(, Wed 6 Jan 2010, 11:34, Reply)
I am pub quiz girl!
Fuck off with your impostors
(, Wed 6 Jan 2010, 11:39, Reply)

i'm too pastey
to wear grey or pink
(, Wed 6 Jan 2010, 11:36, Reply)
Hmmm
what colour is your hair, one of my friends is really pastey but she has dark brown hair so can still get away with the greys, just not the dusky pinks!
(, Wed 6 Jan 2010, 11:41, Reply)
very very
pale yellow

i refuse to admit I'm blonde
(, Wed 6 Jan 2010, 11:43, Reply)
Hehe fair enough
Hmmm... then I can see the problem with pale pinks, that's a bit of a bugger. :(
(, Wed 6 Jan 2010, 11:46, Reply)
You need to see a colour therapist.
No, really, they do exist and will tell you which colours best suit you.
(, Wed 6 Jan 2010, 11:53, Reply)
that's one crazy
job description
(, Wed 6 Jan 2010, 11:55, Reply)
They do exist though.
My ex missus went to see one years ago. It changed her entire wardrobe.
(, Wed 6 Jan 2010, 12:05, Reply)
since most of my wardrobe
is years old and I hate shopping, it's not likely to have much effect on me beyond general interest. I think I missed some girl lessons at school
(, Wed 6 Jan 2010, 12:09, Reply)
I'd have to hope they said
purple, red and black.
(, Wed 6 Jan 2010, 12:15, Reply)
This year I will mostly be wearing...

a thong!
(, Wed 6 Jan 2010, 11:24, Reply)
I shall mostly be doing the mutton dressed as lamb thing.
With a hint of rock chick. That's until I get home and put my cardigan and jog pants on.
(, Wed 6 Jan 2010, 11:30, Reply)
I'd fucking dress your mutton

(, Wed 6 Jan 2010, 11:37, Reply)
Hey, cardigans and jog pants are what
all of the cool kids are wearing! we're not old, just age enhanced.
(, Wed 6 Jan 2010, 12:09, Reply)
I just bought a pair of boots
I haven't bought shoes for about three years, and I haven't bought boots for about 6 years.

New boots is my new fashion thing.
(, Wed 6 Jan 2010, 11:35, Reply)
Mine too

(, Wed 6 Jan 2010, 11:40, Reply)
Mine too.
I have new black roper boots and they are the best boots I ever bought.
(, Wed 6 Jan 2010, 14:25, Reply)
I hear bow ties and tweed jackets are going to be the next big thing.
Pin strip suits and Converse trainers are SO last year.
(, Wed 6 Jan 2010, 11:47, Reply)
No more pin stripe suits and converse trainers?
Is that to morn the loss of David Tennant as Doctor Who?
(, Wed 6 Jan 2010, 11:48, Reply)
It's all about Matt Smith now.
The geeky Geography teacher look is in.
(, Wed 6 Jan 2010, 11:51, Reply)
He makes me sad
:(
(, Wed 6 Jan 2010, 11:51, Reply)
Why did you have to bring that up then?
Do you really hate Davros that much!? Do you!? DO YOU!?
(, Wed 6 Jan 2010, 11:52, Reply)
I'm looking forward to the new bloke, actually.
And Karen Gillan in that tarty coppers outfit.
(, Wed 6 Jan 2010, 11:54, Reply)
who is the new one?

(, Wed 6 Jan 2010, 11:56, Reply)

I'd fucking "tart her coppers outfit"

(, Wed 6 Jan 2010, 11:57, Reply)
Have I missed previous posts about the horror of losing The Doctor?

(, Wed 6 Jan 2010, 11:58, Reply)
I don't think so
I was just being silly. I just imagined Davros taking the loss of Monsieur Tennant rather harder than most people.
(, Wed 6 Jan 2010, 11:59, Reply)
Ah I see
Don't confuse me, I'm quite easily confused today. It took all my brain power to get into work today so I'm running on empty now... I need lunch to re-fuel! :(
(, Wed 6 Jan 2010, 12:05, Reply)
With a police uniform
for the ladies
(, Wed 6 Jan 2010, 11:53, Reply)
I shall be sticking with the tried and tested
flares, boots or skate shoes and casual shirt or hoody combo

I will also be wearing green quite a lot.
(, Wed 6 Jan 2010, 11:55, Reply)
I shall mostly be wearing maternity wear, I think.
The good thing is that the over-the-bump trousers are lovely and warm and hide excess pie-eating. The bad thing is that maternity clothes are really fucking boring. No geeky t-shirts for starters.
(, Wed 6 Jan 2010, 14:24, Reply)
You should know by now that there is nothing you can't find on the internet.
