I love this
www.cracked.com/funny-3809-internet-argument-techniques/

I've read it before, but I think it sums up so many internet communities beautifully.

My question for you:
What do you think is the biggest opinion polariser?
(, Sun 17 Jan 2010, 19:08, 42 replies, latest was 16 years ago)
Girls

(, Sun 17 Jan 2010, 19:10, Reply)
More than marmite or smoking?

(, Sun 17 Jan 2010, 19:11, Reply)
Definitely.
I mean, does a girl on the internet really exist?
(, Sun 17 Jan 2010, 19:19, Reply)
I dunno. You mean a real girl with breasts and everything?

(, Sun 17 Jan 2010, 19:20, Reply)
Yeah, one of them.

(, Sun 17 Jan 2010, 19:25, Reply)
No, I don't think they exist. Everyone knows the internet is really made up of 30 sweaty blokes called Dave
or Keith.
(, Sun 17 Jan 2010, 19:31, Reply)
My real name is Harold.

(, Sun 17 Jan 2010, 19:39, Reply)
Hi Harold. I'm Jonathan

I shudder to think.

(, Sun 17 Jan 2010, 20:14, Reply)
Don't they normally have two?
That's what I heard.
(, Sun 17 Jan 2010, 21:07, Reply)
Kittenz
And general fluff.
(, Sun 17 Jan 2010, 19:19, Reply)
I love the sweet fwuffy ickle kittumz we get at work, but I must admit I do get a bit sick of it when I get home after a while
Having said that, the internet is made of cats apparently, so maybe I'm just more of a kittenz snob than I used to be.

Yeah well I watched Detroit Rock City last night without you and I'd forgotten just how good it was without you and it made me happy without you
So fuck you

Joe Esposito is not a man that likes to fuck around. He didn't sit around in his Ford Festiva in the Kmart parking lot trying to think up a bunch of metaphors for kicking your soul in the ass and making you believe you're better than everybody. He just straight up said "You're the best! Around!" And by the way, "Nothing's gonna ever keep you down!"

There are no lyrics in this song that aren't about how completely, utterly, and thoroughly, fucking awesome you are at everything from fighting to gambling to sports.

Abortion.

And HSH threads. Edit: BECAUSE THEY ARE SHIT.
(, Sun 17 Jan 2010, 21:54, Reply)
too many people don't know enough about global warming for it to be two clear cut sides I'd say

(, Sun 17 Jan 2010, 22:03, Reply)
Also, the atmosphere is possibly the most complex and least-understood physical system on earth.
Anyone who claims to have a reliable conclusion about its behaviour is almost certainly lying.
(, Sun 17 Jan 2010, 22:05, Reply)
nicely put

(, Sun 17 Jan 2010, 22:11, Reply)
Studying it comprehensively is like trying to unravel a dense ball of string several feet in diameter.
But in addition to single linear threads, the ball contains quite a few knots and loops, so you can't always tell where one thread ends and another one begins, or even how many threads there are.

I read it on the Internet.
(, Sun 17 Jan 2010, 22:16, Reply)
I work with hydraulic models
waves and rivers mostly, and it is difficult to get those accurate enough. Always a lot of assumptions. Something as complex as a global climate model is not going to be an easy nor accurate thing to create.
(, Sun 17 Jan 2010, 22:27, Reply)
OMG I KNEW YOU'D SAY THAT
I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU'RE SAYING THAT, ALL THE SCIENTISTS I READ ABOUT ON THE INTERNET SAY oh fuck it, I can't be arsed even pretending to argue.
(, Sun 17 Jan 2010, 22:06, Reply)
I can't believe they omitted "accuse people of trolling when you run out of comebacks".

(, Sun 17 Jan 2010, 22:03, Reply)
Whatever
Shutup you troll!
