Guess it's time to start cooking chili...

And it's a good thing I refilled the propane bottle on the grill- I have steaks and chicken in the freezer.
I'm also glad that my son stocked up on rented movies.

I haven't watched John Stewart in a few days- maybe I'll fire up The Daily Show.

The good thing is that I can watch past episodes until I get tired of him.

Seriously, it's become one of my signature dishes among my friends. The hardest part about it all is cutting up the pork- I use pre-ground spices, so it's just a matter of measuring them out and juicing the lemons. Do all of that the night before and let it marinate,, then just put it in the oven for four hours and forget about it until dinner time.
Rodriguez is hit-or-miss on films, but he sure can cook!

I think I might need to go get a snowball and wake up my son in a memorable way- he still hasn't gotten out of bed, the slug.

We're predicted to get over a foot.

Who likes Midlake? I love them but obviously not enough because I only just found out they're playing in a tunnel up the road tonight.
I'm too hungover and peopled-out to go, and I also told a mate I can't go to his gig, so it would have caused conflict, but I'd have maybe gone anyway.
I rang up and it was sold out. I'm kind of glad beause it takes the difficult decision out of the equation.
But also gutted because Midlake are playing up the road.
Should I sit in the carpark and listen?

Actually, we are used to it so unless its a huge storm it doesn't really affect anything. If it gets above 85 F however we all die.
Are you in Virginia?

Unfortunately I'm in Chesterfield County, so there's nothing within walking distance.

also, I watch my front door to see if any cars can get up my road. By this measure I can work out if I can drive down it without dying.

Not much to speak of though. When it snows I like to make the popular page for something I did months and months ago without even being online for a few days.

I didn't mind at all, I was just a little surprised that it would still be a current or memorable thing for people.

Call up Dave the Poacher (so named for the rad lines he poaches everywhere)and head up the mountain for straight ripping. After a day throwin' down gnarlyness we'll hit up a couple of bars and rip up a couple of shorties. Man, I love snow.

I make all kinds of yummy noms, play board games (Apples to Apples is great if you have enough people, otherwise it's the old Michigan standby, euchre), make a snowman, nap sybaritically, walk down to the big hill with my gen-u-wine Indian tobaggan, read or re-read favorite books, knit, have a couple ambush snowball fights, watch movies, pop popcorn and make cocoa, visit on the phone, invite anyone with 4 wheel drive over, light the fire in the fireplace and generally veg out. Anything to keep from doing chores and homework.
You?
