apart from the raging argument going on in b69's thread, at least.
Today has been a near perfect day, with sun and a stroll through the grounds of Cragside House with the family. I now have wine. My day is only slightly sullied by the fact that I know Clendrix will be upset offline because the footy didn't go her way. I like Clendrix, she bakes nice things, sometimes using the contents of my kitchen like some demented Masterchef contestant. Equally, however, I know that this result will please Tightly and al, both of whom are fine chaps what I also know and like IRL. The miles that seperate us are a source of constant annoyance to me.
I therefore declare myself to be neutral on the matter of today's result, in the hope that I don't upset anyone online. How was your day?

I flew back up from Bristol, where it was sunny and warm, to Glasgow, where it was even sunnier and warmer. Although since I was flying, the flight was of course late as these things always are.
Also, I hate summer. Just wanted to put that out there.

But you're pleased Blackburn held Man U to a draw right?

Hating Man U is second only to hating Sunderland for a Toon supporter, you know.

Since she asked me to find the results for her since she was at a wedding.

A good result today, but there's a way to go yet! One of these days I'll be coming Oop Norf.

We still haven't met your missus.
Actually, we may potentially plan a London trip later in the year (after our hols in August, that is) specifically for bashage purposes. Need to sort finances out though. Step one of that is giving up the fags... 1 week today, still don't fancy one.
(, Sun 11 Apr 2010, 21:00, Reply)
Especially if there is bashage going on.

Either that or sausage.

"A bearded, cavalier like gentleman was discovered in an alleyway in King's Cross in the early hours of the morning. His pants were hanging round his ankles and he appeared to have had several pounds of sausage meat rammed up his anus to the point where it was protruding from his nostrils.
Police are not treating the incident as suspicious".

so RadG: is he a troll, or what?

My initial plan was to ignore him, but I got to wound up. I bet he's a Daily Mail reader.

however, I'm struggling to make up my mind whether I think he had a point.
b69's post didn't come across as tongue-in-cheek, and it's not much of a stretch to think that based on past form it's exactly what he thinks, but I suspect that in the same situation most wouldn't get the response he'd got.
I don't really find anything wrong with that though :-D
(, Sun 11 Apr 2010, 21:17, Reply)
No, he isn't. I don't think B69's post was particularly offensive, it was akin to me thinking this afternoon, after a tractor pulled out in front of me when I was having fun driving back from Cragside "Well, that's fucked with my fun". Maybe not on the same scale, but the sentiment was principally the same.
The kicking blaireau has got as a result is more down to who posted, rather than what was posted, in my view. I like al and becky and CHCB et al, I've met them a few times and they are good people. Similarly I've met blaireau a couple of times and have found him to be a decent, likeable chap.
I think a lot of what RadG said made sense; however, I'm not about to start condemning anyone on that thread because, frankly, life is too short. Blaireau's final comment later down the thread should make his feelings on the matter known, and given his connection with Poland, I think he's possibly better placed to comment in the first instance than the majority of us on this forum.
In short, I like everyone. Mostly.

My vocal chords have been shredded as I joined my band's recording session for the first time. Yesterday was an amazingly perfect day, I took the bird punting with wine, strawberries and cream. I would go on but I'm sure everyone's bored of our croissantness by now.

I went on a tour of the abbey where they make Buckfast wine, and then came home and cooked roasted duck legs with butternut squash puree, baked mashed potato and thyme cake, crispy pancetta, green beans and a red wine sauce.

I had venison with pancetta mash, she had breaded pork loin and chips both in peppercorn sauce. Mmmmmm, meat.

And some lads on the Cam liked my hair. That'll do for me. And yeah Penguin, I'm still up for a jaunt. And djtp if you're not free the 2nd weekend in May, you're dumped :-)

That sums it up pretty well, Have maintained a simmering barney with the wife for most of the day. Wen to the park following a spur of the moment text from a mate and sat there looking like a fucking nonce, Tea was shit, want to have more ale but can't as I'm back at work tomorrow.
And I get to see how much my mechanic is going to bum me for tomorrow ..... Huzzah!
(, Sun 11 Apr 2010, 21:40, Reply)
what the barney was about? Nothing Jeremy Kyle entertaining was it?
(, Sun 11 Apr 2010, 22:08, Reply)
Just general foolishness but it spawned a rolling blue which festered like a rotting turd. All is well in the household now ........ Apart from the £291 mechanic's bill.

well i was driving on the m62 yesterday, middle lane, when the cars in front of me screeched to a near halt and a lorry did a massive swerve onto the hard shoulder. few seconds later and i had to swerve myself into the fast lane to avoid the fucking body that had just jumped from the bridge... there was not exactly a lot left of him... i have never been so traumatised! poor guy, whoever he was, but i feel a lot more sorry for the unfortunate bastard lorry driver who had no choice but to hit him. glad everyone else seems to have had a bit more fun!
