I took the day off and the sun has disappeared
Karma I guess.
I have also woken up with a smoker's cough. WTF.
Last night the cat was doing this weird sneezy thing. It made me think there might be a wasp about, but I couldn't find the Tox or the Raid. I hide them about the place then forget where they are.

I need to MTFU as I'm out for 'lunch' today and out for 'dinner' tonight, and these are Good Things.

Why are you feeling odd?
(, Fri 16 Apr 2010, 8:25, 58 replies, latest was 16 years ago)
Possibly something to do with alcohol consumed last night
I shall piece together last night's details as the day unfolds, I suspect.
(, Fri 16 Apr 2010, 8:26, Reply)
feeling tingly and out of focus
from sleep dep and trying to cut down / give up smoking
(, Fri 16 Apr 2010, 8:28, Reply)
Your cat sneezes at wasps?
How odd.

I find a rolled up newspaper works as an efficient waspicide.

And it's nice and sunny up here. The sunset was particularly nice last night too, as the sky was free of contrails, had lots of dust to make it red, and the moon, Venus and Mercury were lined up nicely.
(, Fri 16 Apr 2010, 8:30, Reply)
Ooh that sounds ace
And I have no aim. The wasp would totally have me...
(, Fri 16 Apr 2010, 8:31, Reply)
well
you are a girl
(, Fri 16 Apr 2010, 8:35, Reply)

I didn't realise
DJ was part of the Monty Boyce Brigade
(, Fri 16 Apr 2010, 8:52, Reply)
Oh yes.
I'm really called Gary, and I'm skilled with a police truncheon.
(, Fri 16 Apr 2010, 8:53, Reply)
hahah
don't, I have a couple of friends who are rozzers, and every possible truncheon joke ever has been done to deff

So, sunny cambridge this weekend? and it is very sunny here this morning
(, Fri 16 Apr 2010, 8:56, Reply)
Nope :(
We're both busy for the next 21 days.
I'm not counting or anything.

(, Fri 16 Apr 2010, 8:58, Reply)
haha

Well once I was counting down from around 570 days so that knocks your paltry three weeks into a cocked hat m'dear
(, Fri 16 Apr 2010, 9:01, Reply)
He's not
He's a nubile young blonde girl called Michelle. He gets on very well with Gary!
(, Fri 16 Apr 2010, 8:54, Reply)
I'm not THAT Gary!
You fucker
(, Fri 16 Apr 2010, 8:57, Reply)
I know
THAT Gary prefers them a bit younger.

your mum's a girl

she was yes

Your mom goes to college

(, Fri 16 Apr 2010, 8:46, Reply)
It was great
I tried to take photos but they didn't turn out too well.

Wasps are pretty slow, as flying insects go. Wait until it's buzzing around a window, then flatten it with the newspaper.
(, Fri 16 Apr 2010, 8:35, Reply)
And when you squash them it attracts more!

(, Fri 16 Apr 2010, 8:42, Reply)
we're such pussies
we're like 500x their size and being stung by a wasp doesn't even hurt that much
(, Fri 16 Apr 2010, 8:44, Reply)
I never want to find out, Kitzo

(, Fri 16 Apr 2010, 8:45, Reply)
haha Kitzo
love it. Makes me sound like a character in Battle Royale
(, Fri 16 Apr 2010, 8:48, Reply)
You are!

(, Fri 16 Apr 2010, 8:48, Reply)
I would totally die in Battle Royale
I would have been the fat kid who panics within the first four minutes and accidentally crossbows the nearest person
(, Fri 16 Apr 2010, 8:54, Reply)
Pish!
It just means there's one fewer wasp to get worried about.

Jam attracts wasps. Dead wasps don't.
(, Fri 16 Apr 2010, 8:49, Reply)
They do
It was on Newsround
(, Fri 16 Apr 2010, 8:50, Reply)
Ach
they're just trying to be goody goody and stop kids from killing wasps. And if they encouraged it, some kids would be stung and tell their mums that "Newsround told me to do it", then the BBC would be in trouble.

Wasp stings are a bit painful, but not that bad. I've been stung a few times. The worst one was by a queen wasp, on my big toe!
(, Fri 16 Apr 2010, 8:52, Reply)
I'm telling you
That milkshake brings all the wasps to the yard.
(, Fri 16 Apr 2010, 8:55, Reply)
Now this
is very true.

I remember sitting in a beer garden outside a Cambridge pub many years ago, trapping wasps. We had four of them buzzing angrily under empty pint glasses when we left. A tad unfair on the bar staff, to be honest!
(, Fri 16 Apr 2010, 8:57, Reply)
I am bar staff in my spare time
I hate you
(, Fri 16 Apr 2010, 8:59, Reply)
It was a long time back
when I was young and silly. I wouldn't do that now.

Unless I was perhaps in a pub in Liverpool where Gary the barmaid was afraid of wasps... :-)
(, Fri 16 Apr 2010, 9:01, Reply)
Wasp stings have pheremones which attract nearby wasps and make them aggressive.

(, Fri 16 Apr 2010, 9:04, Reply)
THANK YOU!!

(, Fri 16 Apr 2010, 9:18, Reply)
sneaky little fuckers

(, Fri 16 Apr 2010, 9:56, Reply)
I don't dare trying to twat wasps
because there's a 90% chance I'll miss and then it'll just be pissed off

This

For the first time in about 2 years
I couldn't sleep because it was too hot in my room last night. I stopped looking at the clock at 4:45.

I feel like a fucking zombie today.
(, Fri 16 Apr 2010, 8:41, Reply)
You need a fan

(, Fri 16 Apr 2010, 8:42, Reply)
I'll be his fan
I love you AA!
(, Fri 16 Apr 2010, 8:44, Reply)
Woo!
Love you too!
(, Fri 16 Apr 2010, 8:45, Reply)
Got one on the go already.
This entire thing is made harder by the fact I'm trying to give up caffeine. Not fun.
(, Fri 16 Apr 2010, 8:46, Reply)
why would you do that?
pssh that's like "I think I'll give up air"
(, Fri 16 Apr 2010, 8:49, Reply)
It wasn't so much the caffeine that's the problem
It was the energy drinks that I was having that were causing problems.

I figured it'd be easier to just cut it out completely.
(, Fri 16 Apr 2010, 8:59, Reply)
I'm a bit hung over and feeling nervous.
My mum is going away for three months to live in Tenerife with my sister. This means I have to help look after my dad, grandad and the dogs. I suspect there will be chaos.
(, Fri 16 Apr 2010, 8:45, Reply)
Quick, get a crew to film you
You could be the new Jayne McDonald.
(, Fri 16 Apr 2010, 8:45, Reply)
or the Osbournes

(, Fri 16 Apr 2010, 8:49, Reply)
Haha!
I love her.

(, Fri 16 Apr 2010, 10:04, Reply)
I'm a bit hung-over and slowly processing doner meat and chips
and I must admit I don't feel up to much today. Thankfully work is completely dead so I can get away with reading my book all day.
(, Fri 16 Apr 2010, 8:59, Reply)
I am feeling odd because in an effort to kick start my creativity
I have not slept* in 24 hrs. Drinking caffeinated beverages all night long.
So far nothing much to report back on. :(

* not entirely true might have had an hour whilst snuggling the wife.
