I'm pretty happy at the moment.
I'm generally quite happy anyway but spring is in the air, life is good and all that bollocks. What's making you happy? Or what's pissing you off? Five pounds says the latter question gets more attention.

I'm happy because I'm going back to Thailand on Saturday.
but also pissed off because the Foreign Office tells me I shouldn't be, so my insurance is now invalid.
Oh and 'ning all!
(, Thu 29 Apr 2010, 9:55, Reply)
Having seen a report on the news last night
where troops and protestors were firing real live bullets at each other, I'd stay the fuck out of Thailand.

Thailand
What a mixture of feelings it brings back...

I hope you´re not going to Bangkok.
(, Thu 29 Apr 2010, 9:57, Reply)
Nah nowhere near Bangkok.
Off to Buriram in the North East. Only thing to worry about there is the odd pissed off buffalo and crawly bitey things as big as your face.
(, Thu 29 Apr 2010, 9:59, Reply)
And Thai people
Trying to help you getting rid of all your money? I don´t know, maybe that´s only in Bangkok as well.

What a pretty city and what a bunch of thieves.

Different world in the sticks mate.
If you speak the language (even badly like me) they make you feel genuinely welcome and I have a lot of friends there now. But I know exactly what you mean in Bangers. We're just barely-tolerated, walking ATMs there.
(, Thu 29 Apr 2010, 10:10, Reply)
That´s exactly how I felt
They were so polite all the time, but after a few minutes you start wondering if they are really that nice or they are just expecting a good tip for opening doors for you and things like that.

I want to go again, but to the North, and with someone who speaks the language.

I enjoyed very much the tiger temple.
(, Thu 29 Apr 2010, 10:14, Reply)
There's a temple near Angthong
dedicated to the lower realms of Buddhism. 20ft high statues of demons and grotesque life size statues everywhere, absolutely amazing and smack in the middle of well... nowhere. It's incredible what you can find when you go off the beaten track.
(, Thu 29 Apr 2010, 10:21, Reply)
Nah, more likely to Bangkunt.

(, Thu 29 Apr 2010, 10:00, Reply)
^someone had to.
Are you here all week and should I try the veal? :)
(, Thu 29 Apr 2010, 10:02, Reply)
Here all week.
Under the pier.

Yesterday the kitchen door was rehung and the new fuse board went in.
Little things but since I am living on a building site, little things like that make me happy. And sunshine, that's quite good. And my spinach is growing nicely.
(, Thu 29 Apr 2010, 9:56, Reply)
I've got herbs!
The chives have exploded, I had to cut the mint right back - I can't believe how quickly that grows - the sage is back and the thyme is showing promise.
(, Thu 29 Apr 2010, 9:59, Reply)
I've planted tons of things
But the only one growing is the coriander and the sunflowers. I´m getting very dissapointed. I don´t know how to make them better.
(, Thu 29 Apr 2010, 10:04, Reply)
My thyme died.
Mint's great if it's contained - I had so many mojitos last summer. Mint's mint.
(, Thu 29 Apr 2010, 10:04, Reply)
My mint doesn´t grow at all
Same as a lot of other herbs I planted. Next time I´ll buy them already big so I just have to look after them, rather than making them start.
(, Thu 29 Apr 2010, 10:06, Reply)
You call your baby spinach?

(, Thu 29 Apr 2010, 9:59, Reply)
I will now!

(, Thu 29 Apr 2010, 10:03, Reply)
Hooray!
I haz influence.
(, Thu 29 Apr 2010, 10:05, Reply)
I'm at home
with a cold. But that´s not very good as I´m a bit bored and thinking about going to work in an hour or so anyway.
(, Thu 29 Apr 2010, 9:58, Reply)
Do I really need to say it?

(, Thu 29 Apr 2010, 9:58, Reply)
Have you got a throne?
Every retiree needs a throne.
(, Thu 29 Apr 2010, 10:01, Reply)
I'm looking at chainsawing one out of an old fallen tree trunk. It will be kept in the garden.

(, Thu 29 Apr 2010, 10:08, Reply)
I'd love to do that.
Chainsaw, tenon saw, chisels then sandpaper.
(, Thu 29 Apr 2010, 10:12, Reply)
A real man wouldn't sandpaper.

(, Thu 29 Apr 2010, 10:14, Reply)
I've got sensitive buttocks.
Besides, I used to be a joiner. It's all about the finish.
(, Thu 29 Apr 2010, 10:16, Reply)
It's all about the finish?
Spoken like a true man.
(, Thu 29 Apr 2010, 10:17, Reply)
Wait a minute!
You were a joiner? I need alcove cupboards. And clean windows. And I might want to go for a guided walk.
(, Thu 29 Apr 2010, 10:17, Reply)
Haha.
I'm quite useful and no mistake.
(, Thu 29 Apr 2010, 10:19, Reply)
He would just take it rough?

(, Thu 29 Apr 2010, 10:16, Reply)
Exactly.

(, Thu 29 Apr 2010, 10:17, Reply)
I've even got some log splitters to get the big bits out.
Just need to pursuade wife it'll look good.
(, Thu 29 Apr 2010, 10:21, Reply)
In America they call those "stool softeners"
Or have I misunderstood the whole retiree/throne thing?
(, Thu 29 Apr 2010, 10:31, Reply)
I'm missing home-from-home
and I'm worrying about work, but it's not making me unhappy.

My cat makes me happy.

Also, anyone know their bible/psalms well?
(, Thu 29 Apr 2010, 9:59, Reply)
Let ye who have not sinned, cast the first stone.

(, Thu 29 Apr 2010, 10:04, Reply)
I'm sure there's an allusion in this piece I'm doing to a psalm
but I can't find a decent commentary so I'm trying to find it myself.
ARGH
(, Thu 29 Apr 2010, 10:06, Reply)
It's
'Let ye who is without sin' - so not you, then.
(, Thu 29 Apr 2010, 10:11, Reply)
Pfft!
I covet my neighbours ass once and they never let you forget it.
(, Thu 29 Apr 2010, 10:13, Reply)
I have a working knowledge of the bible
for my medieval studies. What line are you looking for?
(, Thu 29 Apr 2010, 10:35, Reply)
If it wasn't for the fact I have boobies, I'd probably be suicidal.

(, Thu 29 Apr 2010, 10:02, Reply)
They are good boobies
If I was lesbian/man I´d like to try them.
(, Thu 29 Apr 2010, 10:05, Reply)
They've seen better days but can still do the job.

(, Thu 29 Apr 2010, 10:06, Reply)
Nothing that a good sexy bra can´t sort
Better than mine, anyway. They´ll never fall, for sure, but you can barely see them.
(, Thu 29 Apr 2010, 10:07, Reply)
*gets out microscope*
Oh yes I see what you mean.
(, Thu 29 Apr 2010, 10:08, Reply)
Small boobs make me happy.

(, Thu 29 Apr 2010, 10:21, Reply)
Get in!
Saggy boobs are great for midgets, they don't have to reach up so far.

Lower your sights madam and be happy with a midget.

I handed in my main project for the year yesterday
So now I only have one more project to do, then I have to enter the real world. This is a good thing. The people I have to work with for the last project answer the second part of the question.
(, Thu 29 Apr 2010, 10:09, Reply)
Any idea what you're going to do in the real world?

(, Thu 29 Apr 2010, 10:17, Reply)
Design stuff
And possibly things too. Looking for a job in a product design consultancy, but haven't really got round to actually getting in touch properly yet with places.
(, Thu 29 Apr 2010, 10:19, Reply)
Stuff and things.
Good work there. Very pleasantly vague.
(, Thu 29 Apr 2010, 10:22, Reply)
Keeps my options open
I've done all sorts of things while at uni, working at a consultancy would allow me to keep doing very different projects.
(, Thu 29 Apr 2010, 10:24, Reply)
I'm pissed off in general
Got too drunk at the weekend
Spent a shitload of money
I'm still in this shitty town and shitty job
Exercise regime has crumbled

On the other hand I'm approaching the motivation levels to resume the job hunt and exercising. Maybe next week..
