On Saturday, after the beer festival, I was silly enough to start playing with one of mark's friends, who is easily 2.798 times my size. As I result, I ended up in the floor, half crying, and with a massive scratch all over my leg.
It's been quite painful (more like an itchy feeling all the time) so I haven't managed to get sleep easily, as my leg hurts if it touches anything.
To top it up, a stupid pigeon has decided to nest in front of mark's bedroom, and it starts shouting/crying/whatever they do, but it's not singing at 4am.
I haven't slept properly for 3 days, and my eyes are very red and won't stop crying. I feel awful.
What is making you unhappy today?

Right after Batshitmentalist's post, my reason to be unhappy seems quite silly... sorry.

but my job is getting me down. Don't ever work for a taxi company in any capacity ever. Ever.

THAT makes me sad...
On a brighter note - it's my B3ta birthday! :)

get to go out and measure a river which is always fun
the mrs went to try on wedding dresses last night. she found one she really liked for a mere £1200...
I said if she spends that much on a dress she'll walk down the aisle to find me wearing nothing but chaps and clutching a £1200 guitar.

I have no clue how they get away with charging such extortionate prices for wedding stuff.
(, Tue 8 Jun 2010, 8:28, Reply)
Not that I would pay that much for a frock I'm only going to wear once.
(, Tue 8 Jun 2010, 8:30, Reply)
now I get to go out in the rain and stand by a river for the rest of the day, after driving 2.5 hours to get there
(, Tue 8 Jun 2010, 8:30, Reply)
But yes, there will be a good mark-up price as well as in all quality goods.
(, Tue 8 Jun 2010, 8:31, Reply)
the mrs was adamant she wouldn't spend anywhere near that, and I'm hoping that she can find something she likes as much for much less, otherwise I'll feel irrationally guilty!

I'm just saying that expensive dresses are very well made and beautifully crafted.

stitched with woven gold, platinum and copper thread, lined with panda fur with a rare orchid in the button hole, packed in a solid silver flight case and delivered by fourty herons wearing little velour waistcoats.

I was looking at webpages yesterday and one of them classified their dresses in 3:
Silver (from £1000 to 3000)
Gold (from £3000 to 5000)
Platinum (+ £5000)
You're quite lucky she hasn't seen it.

I'm surprisingly unconcerned I've got to spend a few hours in a car with Lab and Badger.

You'll be stuck in the middle getting battered by their bickering.

Singapore Girl and I agreed to go our seperate ways. I'm not happy about it, but I know it's for the best. My best friend got with a lad I'm not a fan of on Sunday, and I made it clear how uncomfortable this makes me (don't ask me why, I don't know either), and she pointed out she'd felt the same with me and SG, so basically we're all fucked.
Add to that the fact my housemate is claiming he's spending all day every day looking for jobs, and not going on facebook or anything, yet when I came home yesterday at lunch, I found him not dressed, playing on the PS2, reading his emails leisurely. I checked the internet history when I got home, he'd been on facebook, miniclip, youporn etc the entire fucking day. He's got 6 days to find a decent paying job, or he's out. I don't think he believes I'm capable of it. Time will tell.
I'm off to see some of my oldest friends this weekend, if they can't bring me out of this funk, I'm going to make a doctors appointment, see if there can be any help from there.
Sorry for the threadjack, but feels kinda good to get it written.

Irritatingly, I can't get past my whole 'I've got it for the rest of my life, if I don't actually love it, what's the bastard point' which is rather annoying
(, Tue 8 Jun 2010, 8:45, Reply)
But it soon passes.

However, the iPhone 4 will be released soon!

I have increased amniotic fluid. That's not good. The baby is lying oblique because the fibroid is mostly blocking the cervix. That's not good. Because of both of those, I am at increased risk of cord prolapse if my waters break. That's really not good. I am having a c-section in 4 weeks time. That's actually okay. It will be a complicated operation with a classical (vertical) incision and am at increased risk of needing a blood transfusion. That's not good. I am probably going to be admitted to the antenatal ward in 2.5 weeks time for monitoring up until the c-section, in case of cord prolapse. That sucks, especially because I'll have to eat NHS food for a fortnight.
Oh, and my blood pressure is up. That's not good but it's not fucking surprising.

I'm not so unlucky after all...
Sorry to hear you are not doing well. At least you're in a country where you get quite a good medical service and they found out and are going to monitor you.
I'm sure you'll get someone to bring you nice food. If you give us the address we can send you unhealthy take aways :)
(, Tue 8 Jun 2010, 9:49, Reply)
Very true. The sort of developed country that has delicatessens.
I am drawing up menu plans now.
(, Tue 8 Jun 2010, 9:51, Reply)
and have it delivered direct to your bed.
Also, imagine how much you'd be paying in a developed country like the US.

I'm sure it'll be fine. It's a bit scary (mainly because of the crap food) but you'll look at all this in a few years and laugh (or not)

I was up at the Winter Ale Festival in Manchester last January. At the end of the evening, as my friends and I staggered down the stairs toward the exit, we saw a young lady attempt to slide down the balustrade on her arse.
Initially she did quite well, maintaining a steady course until about halfway down when she toppled right off the banister and bounced down the remaining stairs. It was not a pretty sight.
As for me, I'm actually in an alright mood. Terribly stiff below the waist, but can't complain.
(, Tue 8 Jun 2010, 10:05, Reply)
The mere thought of someone doing that has got me sniggering currently
