It's been a mixed weekend
gig on Friday was half great, half average.

Wedding on Saturday was most excellent aside from the mortifying bit where my mate's girlfriend (who was incredibly drunk) told my mate's mum that we had decided that she is still the hottest of our friend's mums. While I was there. I felt we all coped very well though. And I still stand by it.

Surf yesterday was incredible, however I seem to have fucked my neck.

How was your weekend?

Not that I'm going to be around to read it today, I'm off to walk along a river in the rain.

Quite a good weekend really.
We went to see The girl who played with fire last night, then some pasta at Prezzo in Stevanage.

Had a good stroll round Dunstable Downs in the morning. Oh, and some nookie too.

Howdy everybody.

weekend was shit, today has been worse.
just got told my cat has an impacted bowel and is probably not going to live through the surgery.

Oooh that is sad,
I can't even make a humorous comment.
:(
(, Mon 6 Sep 2010, 8:35, Reply)
it's utterly shit.
I love that little fuzzbucket. He's always up for a cuddle and always brings me decapitated presents. Except the decapitated presents are what got him into strife, he ate something and couldn't digest it, and now he's lying on a vet's table.

Today is also the 59th "anniversary" of Jews being required to wear yellow star's of David. A cheerful start to the week eh?
(, Mon 6 Sep 2010, 9:06, Reply)
they shouldn't make anniversaries out of shit things
they should only be joyful times. Although if they're shit things they're usually called remembrances so you know it's bad.
(, Mon 6 Sep 2010, 9:15, Reply)
Not too bad- a bit like your's
in that it was quite mixed. Some excellent bits, such as Dom Howard's excellent pert arse encased in shiny silver material, and some not so great bits, like having a panic attack on the main road at home and being ill.

But really, I can't complain. I would go for a walk myself if the weather were a little better. I'm not emo enough at the moment for walking in the rain.
(, Mon 6 Sep 2010, 8:50, Reply)
you could take an umbrella and go and stare at a lake.

Nah I got home late yesterday
because of Milton Sodding Keynes. I took great pleasure in texting Applebite and complaining about it to her.

(, Mon 6 Sep 2010, 9:36, Reply)
Not bad, recovered from the bug that knocked my father out
and seeing as he never gets ill, it was a nasty one.

My sister got upset my walls were so bare, so I'm going to make them look pretty today. So far I've just got a picture of my parents and a horrendous plastic lizard that I love and everyone else hates.
(, Mon 6 Sep 2010, 9:38, Reply)
I played at a wedding in a massive old sandstone church on Saturday
Was brilliant, partly because the stage was absolutely massive, and I nearly blew my amp up from turning it up too loud.

The wedding you were at sounds like one of those brilliantly awkward experiences. Good job on sticking to your convictions though.
(, Mon 6 Sep 2010, 8:51, Reply)
Alright?
Mine wasn't too bad cheers.
Alton Towers on Friday, got to go on every ride I wanted (except for the Log Flume, argh!)
Saturday, spent the day at my mates house, we had a BBQ in the afternoon, then a few films with some drinks in the evening.
Sunday, Chilled out day, didn't really do much at all.

I've also come to a fairly major decision. Over the last few months, it's been a real struggle to afford to pay for my house, due to a useless housemate (who I've kicked out) leaving me in the shit. Now, I can't even afford to pay rent without help, as I'm stuck paying off bank charges from the previous month. I've now applied for housing benefits, so am going to see how much that can help me out. If it can't, I'm going to move out, and move into a house share, a fact that scares the crap out of me.

EDIT: Yes, I'm aware you'll probably view what I've written as crap and boring, but it's something that plays on your mind, when you aren't able to even pay your bills.
(, Mon 6 Sep 2010, 8:59, Reply)
was it busy?
I'm going on Sunday. I went around this time last year and the max we had to queue was half an hour for Rita Queen of Speed, other than that it was pretty much in and out, it was brilliant.

House sharing does sound like a good idea for you, it won't be your responsibility to find a housemate then if people move out. Plus you're only young, housesharing can apparently be lots of fun.
(, Mon 6 Sep 2010, 9:00, Reply)
It wasn't quiet, but not massively busy.
A 40 minute queue was to be expected. Last time we went, we walked onto Nemesis 4 times in a row, it was awesome! Just something to expect, if you do go on Thirteen, it's likely to break down, or stop for a few minutes. Will work after, and they'll probably give you another go on it though.

I think I'm just nervous about the house share, because I'm so used to being in charge, if you get what I mean? Plus, the lack of parties will depress me :-(
(, Mon 6 Sep 2010, 9:05, Reply)
yeah completely
I lived alone since I was 18. I had a flatmate for a brief period but he was such a colossal douche that I threw him out after only a couple of months. Maybe look for housemates who are nurses or security guards something so they're always out at night.

You can have parties in a house share, as long as you find cool housemates.
(, Mon 6 Sep 2010, 9:18, Reply)
Aye, I'm hoping to
Sadly, so far most are middle aged women, so I'm not too sure about that...
(, Mon 6 Sep 2010, 9:53, Reply)
they'll look after you though

(, Mon 6 Sep 2010, 9:58, Reply)
no I'd already heard of it.
but like, Mum took me to movie world a few years ago, and I couldn't go on half the rides, because I ended up on the ground in the foetal position when we were waiting in line and I saw how high and fast everything moved..
(, Mon 6 Sep 2010, 10:07, Reply)
Oof
I was lucky I suppose, my brothers all liked theme parks, so I never had a choice whether I was going on rides or not. Certainly stopped me ever being afraid of them, so I do feel for anyone who is!
(, Mon 6 Sep 2010, 10:24, Reply)
I like some rides.
I like the Waterworld ones. I just really hate ones where you're on a track in a little cart and you're high in the sky and there's nothing between you and the ground but air and the track the cart is on!
(, Mon 6 Sep 2010, 10:30, Reply)
The shit I put myself through on Saturday
would make any ride on this planet look like a fucking joke, believe me.
(, Mon 6 Sep 2010, 9:38, Reply)
no one cares about your lame drug anecdotes.

(, Mon 6 Sep 2010, 9:44, Reply)
Whereas fairground ride anecdotes
are simply RIVETING, aren't they?
(, Mon 6 Sep 2010, 9:55, Reply)
totally.
I went on all the rides and I even went on the big one and it was really scary and I had lots of candy floss and I ate it all until I was sick.

Did you take a packed lunch?
Best of all the lunches
(, Mon 6 Sep 2010, 10:00, Reply)
My parents always used to make me take a packed lunch
and I would look at the kids eating hotdogs with such envy that now I'm an adult I take every opportunity to eat crap at these places.

Mine wasn't great
Night shifts Friday - Sunday but now that I'm done I've booked next shift off so I'm not back in for 18 whole days.

I'm off to Amsterdam on Thursday till the 15th, supposedly to visit the International Broadcasting Convention but mainly as an excuse to see old colleagues and drink far too much.

Edit:

I've just opened a beer and it feels somehow wrong to be drinking in the morning even though I've been up for 18 hours and it's my evening if you see what I mean.
(, Mon 6 Sep 2010, 9:22, Reply)
I went for a long walk along the Rochdale canal with the parents and dogs yesterday.
One and a half hour walk to pub on canal, drink and dinner and back again. It was surprisingly a very enjoyable day.
(, Mon 6 Sep 2010, 9:23, Reply)
Ooh that sounds nice
canal walks are awesome because they always end at a pub
(, Mon 6 Sep 2010, 9:37, Reply)
this is why my sister has just bought a canal boat

Not much

I have been on an almighty bender (yes, ha ha well done)
No daughter this weekend so I distracted myself from this misery by blasting my mind into space and my liver into the lowest depths of hell. I'm not proud of this and feel distinctly odd this morning, but I did have a dear old friend over, we went for a pizza and then hit the funghi with gusto; at the time it was hugely enjoyable but the return to reality has been very much with a bump.

So no.

What are YOU doing this weekend. In fact - what's everyone doing this weekend?

How did the dmt/psilocybin interface work out
It must have been pretty full on...i would imagine the dmt would last for longer and be a lot more intense...if that is at all possible.
(, Mon 6 Sep 2010, 9:45, Reply)
I had a pipe of DMT
and then ate the mushies maybe an hour later.

When I ate the mushrooms I said to my pal 'after that DMT these are going to be a walk in the park'.

An hour later: 'fucking hell this is a pretty big park'....
(, Mon 6 Sep 2010, 9:50, Reply)
Nice one.
I thought you might have had a toot on the dimitri as you were peaking on the shrooms. I tried that with salvia and the headrush seemed to last for about an hour. Totally blown in the stratosphere. Unfortunately my friend greedily puffed ALL of the first bowl of salvia to himself, as opposed to sharing it like I suggested. He quickly crumbled in on himself and lay in a foetal position, speaking in tongues.
(, Mon 6 Sep 2010, 9:54, Reply)
That would have been suicidal, I think.
