I downloaded the latest iTunes update last week, and since then have been unable to access anything in my library - or even to see it listed.
Has anyone else had this problem? Did you solve it? How?

unless you download an install an update. It fucks it up every single time. So I've stopped updating it.

I think it's ridiculous that you are expected to download 70 odd megs of file to update a shit program to something which is equally shit, and looks exactly the same.

First, the traffic-light button things in the top left corner are aligned vertically rather than horizontally.
Second, YOU CAN'T SEE ANY OF YOUR FUCKING FILES, let alone open, play, or do anything at all with them.
Grrrrrr.

It still doesn't work.
But at least it managed to go a whole 37 seconds without crashing.
Update: 108 seconds now. It's clearly getting better. :(

At least I can guarantee that it won't be any worse that way.

If you could translate that into language understood by someone who treats his computer as a typewriter with a telly attached, I might be able to respond...

then you select your hard drive in the left-hand panel and click verify disk permissions. Once that is done it'll let you do repair disk permissions. It's my default course of action when something goes wrong on a mac.
(, Mon 6 Sep 2010, 21:54, Reply)
It's not even letting me do that... I can see the "Verify" button, but I can't press it.
I think I should perhaps just give up and buy a regular CD player for the study instead...
(Thanks for the tip, though...)

You have selected Macintosh HD and you are looking at the FIrst Aid panel of Disk Utility?
Can you go to System Preferences-Accounts and check that you are logged in as an admin?

As it always chucks up issues for me. Unfortunately I then try to plug my iPod in, and it demands I update it, and the whole thing takes hours of my time, and shortens my life by days. Write them emails and complain, and start vicious smear campaigns. It's clearly the only way.

I would be qualified to do it, would be a good company to work for. Quite want to get the job.
Was at another interview up North in Scotland the next day, which I would happily take if I didn't get the London job.
