Well done
I did that recently and it's more fast-paced and there's lots of new stuff to learn, but I like it much more than the previous one.

Are you now working on the bakery counter?

(, Mon 4 Oct 2010, 19:04, Reply)
or working with
really BIG hams
(, Mon 4 Oct 2010, 19:05, Reply)
I'm on the Make-Your-Own-Pizza counter now

(, Mon 4 Oct 2010, 19:08, Reply)
Sweet as
you get to work with cheese!
(, Mon 4 Oct 2010, 19:10, Reply)
God I love cheese

(, Mon 4 Oct 2010, 19:10, Reply)
Mmm, cheese
I am having THE poshest cheese n pickle sandwich. Hows you this evening Roota?
(, Mon 4 Oct 2010, 19:12, Reply)
Cheese n chutney
Like Robin & Rosie of Cockleshell Bay. Aaah.
I'm good ta, got to shake a leg and get to my second job soon.
How's you?

Jokes aside, I would actually like to work on a deli counter.
(, Mon 4 Oct 2010, 19:15, Reply)
that was my first job
it sucked
(, Mon 4 Oct 2010, 19:18, Reply)
I don't go in waitrose much
because I'm generally too impoverished, but man, I think I could deal with working their deli counter. I'd probably end up really fat though. I'm good cheers, enjoying a rare evening in doing fuck all. Is it a good second job that's fun or just one of those things you have to do for extra pennies?
(, Mon 4 Oct 2010, 19:20, Reply)
I could possibly just about survive without it now
but it really helps when pay day is four days away and I need fodder or some stockings.

It started out as a desperate necessity though! Nice quiet friendly pub, free glass of wine or two, decent jukebox. Sorted.
(, Mon 4 Oct 2010, 19:31, Reply)
Pfft
sounds much better than my second job - I have to look after small children :( it does make the occasional buying of pretty things easier, though.
(, Mon 4 Oct 2010, 19:43, Reply)
Quiet pub in the week, that's nice bartending
busy pub on a friday night, that can be a pain.
(, Mon 4 Oct 2010, 20:29, Reply)
Cheese rocks.

(, Mon 4 Oct 2010, 19:12, Reply)
I used to live above a cheese shop.
It was absolute torture. I spent a bloody fortune on the stuff over three years.
(, Mon 4 Oct 2010, 19:19, Reply)
Heaven!

(, Mon 4 Oct 2010, 19:32, Reply)
The smell when it opened was a bit pungent.
Then we discovered a hole in the floorboards and filled it in.

The shop's stil there.
(, Mon 4 Oct 2010, 19:34, Reply)
it's best when it's greek and stuffed in a chile
I feel like there should be a rude joke there, but I can't quite work it out
(, Mon 4 Oct 2010, 19:13, Reply)
Would the punchline
Include a person from Athens going to South America?
(, Mon 4 Oct 2010, 19:14, Reply)

(, Mon 4 Oct 2010, 19:15, Reply)
have you tried the wendslydale with cranberries in it?

(, Mon 4 Oct 2010, 19:14, Reply)
Wensleydale with blueberries in it is better
TRUFACT.
(, Mon 4 Oct 2010, 19:15, Reply)
sounds true to me
have you tried adding Stilton to mashed potatoes?
(, Mon 4 Oct 2010, 19:17, Reply)
I have not
as I've only recently started liking blue cheese, and find stilton a little bit strong still. I make a damnfine brocolli, watercress and blue cheese soup though, and I shall try blue cheese mash the next time I make some.
(, Mon 4 Oct 2010, 19:22, Reply)
It goes really well with pork cooked in cider
just go easy on the stilton, if you find it strong.
(, Mon 4 Oct 2010, 19:24, Reply)
Cheese with fruit in it
is an absolute fucking abberation and should be banned under the Geneva convention.

Let cheese be cheese for fuck's sake.

Although i did once have a nice strong cheddar with pickled onion in it and it was superb
(, Mon 4 Oct 2010, 19:17, Reply)
what about
christmas cake cheese?
(, Mon 4 Oct 2010, 19:19, Reply)
Whaaaat?

(, Mon 4 Oct 2010, 19:20, Reply)
had some once
tasted both of christmas cake and cheese and yet was pretty nice
(, Mon 4 Oct 2010, 19:23, Reply)
Can't stand Christmas cake
so I doubt it would be a winning combination in my book. I don't like fruit in general; the texture makes me puke and the smell of many fruits makes me nauseous. Especially pineapple.
(, Mon 4 Oct 2010, 19:20, Reply)
In fact the mere smell of pineapple is enough to make me vomit at ten paces.
The taste of it will simply make me explode in general, so nobody hand me a slice of ham and pineapple pizza without actually deploying a tarpaulin and / or evacuating the premises. It's THAT bad.
(, Mon 4 Oct 2010, 19:23, Reply)

*throws away novelty pinapple shaped dalek birthday present*
(, Mon 4 Oct 2010, 19:25, Reply)
is that the wrong way round, by any chance?
otherwise, that's pretty weird
(, Mon 4 Oct 2010, 19:27, Reply)
Maybe BGB took a perfectly good Dalek
And made a pineapple out of it?
(, Mon 4 Oct 2010, 19:28, Reply)
seems like her style

(, Mon 4 Oct 2010, 19:29, Reply)
I'm lolwacky me.

(, Mon 4 Oct 2010, 19:30, Reply)
Pineapple on a pizza is
wrong, wrong, wrong.

There is nothing right about it at all.
(, Mon 4 Oct 2010, 19:27, Reply)
Pineapple is just wrong, full stop.
It looks like a deviant's sex toy and has the taste of Christ know's what. It. Is. EVIL!
(, Mon 4 Oct 2010, 19:30, Reply)
Calm down!
Non of us has any pinapple at the moment.
(, Mon 4 Oct 2010, 19:33, Reply)
JUST THE MERE MENTION IS MAKING ME QUEASY, BGB!

(, Mon 4 Oct 2010, 19:35, Reply)
Christmas cake is wrong

(, Mon 4 Oct 2010, 19:32, Reply)
Or a lemon cheesecake?

(, Mon 4 Oct 2010, 19:20, Reply)
Lemon cheesecake is fine, oddly enough.

(, Mon 4 Oct 2010, 19:21, Reply)

I've been validated by BGB
*Beams*
(, Mon 4 Oct 2010, 19:32, Reply)
and I feel validated by both BGB and Jeff
so I win
(, Mon 4 Oct 2010, 19:33, Reply)
I do give good validation, don't I.

(, Mon 4 Oct 2010, 19:34, Reply)
The best.

(, Mon 4 Oct 2010, 19:36, Reply)
Some are.
However I can see no redeeming features whatsoever in ruining a perfectly good dish with strawberries. They are arse grapes from Beelzebub's own fetid bottom.

I have to go for a smoke now just to take the bloody metaphorical taste and smell away.
(, Mon 4 Oct 2010, 19:32, Reply)
Have you tried that Ilchester one with the peppers and chiles?
I'm rather partial.
(, Mon 4 Oct 2010, 19:22, Reply)
I'm sort of with you on that
I don't like cheese that's been faffed about with too much, but wensleydale with blueberries in really is the shit. Just seen your post about pineapple so I shan't tell you about my deep and abiding love for cheese and pineapple sticks...
(, Mon 4 Oct 2010, 19:23, Reply)
Please fuck off now.
In the nicest possible way, of course.
(, Mon 4 Oct 2010, 19:25, Reply)
Sorry DG
But cheese and pineapple, on cocktail sticks, stuck into half a grapefruit that has been covered in foil. AND arranged so it looks like a hedgehog is the greatest of all the buffet items.
(, Mon 4 Oct 2010, 19:31, Reply)
I've not been to a party like that in years

(, Mon 4 Oct 2010, 19:32, Reply)
You're missing out.
Especially if you can finish your buffet off with an Artic Roll.
(, Mon 4 Oct 2010, 19:34, Reply)
I love artic roll.
Sponge and icecream. What's not to love.
(, Mon 4 Oct 2010, 19:35, Reply)
To be honest
It doesn't taste as good as it did when I was a kid.

Worth covering it in 'ice-magic' to get it that full-on 1970's taste.
(, Mon 4 Oct 2010, 19:38, Reply)
or instant whip

(, Mon 4 Oct 2010, 19:41, Reply)
OMG!

(, Mon 4 Oct 2010, 19:35, Reply)
OMG
Good? Or OMG bad?
(, Mon 4 Oct 2010, 19:38, Reply)
OMG AWESOME!

(, Mon 4 Oct 2010, 19:41, Reply)
I've got my eye on you an' all, Jeff.
You fucking pineapple pervert.
(, Mon 4 Oct 2010, 19:36, Reply)
Sorry DG.

(, Mon 4 Oct 2010, 19:39, Reply)
Adore it.
I like Waitrose's best.
(, Mon 4 Oct 2010, 19:15, Reply)
I have seen that and wondered
does it work in sandwiches? That's 90% of my cheese use, right there.
(, Mon 4 Oct 2010, 19:16, Reply)
Delish on toast

(, Mon 4 Oct 2010, 19:33, Reply)
I quite like smoked cheese.

(, Mon 4 Oct 2010, 19:17, Reply)
nom

(, Mon 4 Oct 2010, 19:19, Reply)
In fact.
One of the only good things about Christmas is being able to buy loads of different cheeses without feeling too guilty.
(, Mon 4 Oct 2010, 19:20, Reply)
I like nutty cheeses.

(, Mon 4 Oct 2010, 19:22, Reply)
Cheeses wants me for a sunbeam.

(, Mon 4 Oct 2010, 19:24, Reply)

(, Mon 4 Oct 2010, 19:26, Reply)
I'm not big on the cheese and nut combo

(, Mon 4 Oct 2010, 19:25, Reply)
