Well the weekend is coming to a close
Any highlights you'd wish to share?

Or why not tell me what you'll be doing this week instead?
(, Sun 14 Nov 2010, 18:35, 132 replies, latest was 15 years ago)
The highlight of my weekend was eating a piece of New York cheesecake earlier today.

(, Sun 14 Nov 2010, 18:37, Reply)
Not the illegal driving?

(, Sun 14 Nov 2010, 18:45, Reply)
Haha!
That came a close second.

Did you have your music on loud when you were in the car?

(, Sun 14 Nov 2010, 19:02, Reply)
Yes.
The music system in the car automatically get's louder the faster you go to compensate for the noise of the engine. Awesome!
(, Sun 14 Nov 2010, 19:09, Reply)
I had a similar system in my first car.
But that was down to me to turn the music up to disguse the worrying noises the car made when you got over 50 mph.

I was on the school of thought that if I can hear the worrying noise, then there was no need to be worried.
(, Sun 14 Nov 2010, 19:11, Reply)
I'm not really a flash car fan but this did impress me.

(, Sun 14 Nov 2010, 19:14, Reply)
What songs were you playing?

(, Sun 14 Nov 2010, 19:18, Reply)
It was the radio.

(, Sun 14 Nov 2010, 19:19, Reply)
What? Was it the news or a traffic report?

(, Sun 14 Nov 2010, 19:28, Reply)
I got things bought, money given, and saw my parents and cat.
I also had horrific panic dreams and my useless flatmate calling me asking where the fusebox was, when he knew I was at home. Luckily I directed him to it and he went back to calling his father and complaining.

This week I will be doing reading, eating, possibly running if I MTFU enough and being generally lame.
(, Sun 14 Nov 2010, 18:38, Reply)
eugh
you just broke a dream I had this afternoon.
(, Sun 14 Nov 2010, 19:00, Reply)
We went to see the Levellers in Kendal on Friday.
Booked tickets for the Sisters of Mercy yesterday, and are now about to attempt to make meatloaf for the first time.

And I have wine. Lots and lots of wine.
(, Sun 14 Nov 2010, 18:39, Reply)
Did Tourettes get a snog again?

(, Sun 14 Nov 2010, 18:42, Reply)
Nope, not this time.
Not for want of trying either.
(, Sun 14 Nov 2010, 18:43, Reply)
Huzzah!

(, Sun 14 Nov 2010, 18:43, Reply)
I'm looking forward to it already.

(, Sun 14 Nov 2010, 18:46, Reply)
Somehow I managed to read
'Sister of Mercy' as 'Sylvester McCoy' when I skim-read it.
(, Sun 14 Nov 2010, 18:47, Reply)
Given that it was me what wrote it
I'm not surprised at all. Easy mistake to make, Jeff.
(, Sun 14 Nov 2010, 18:49, Reply)
Well that was probably what happened.

(, Sun 14 Nov 2010, 18:51, Reply)
was it the gig with the wonderstuff?
I wanted to see that, but it's on a school night
(, Sun 14 Nov 2010, 18:49, Reply)
No, that's next year.
Going to Glasgow Barrowlands to see that one in March.
(, Sun 14 Nov 2010, 18:50, Reply)
jealous
decent gigs rarely come this far west, so they always involve more travelling and none on school nights
(, Sun 14 Nov 2010, 18:51, Reply)
They are playing a lot closer to us, i.e. in Newcastle.
Except the venue is shit, hence the decision to go for Barrowlands instead.
(, Sun 14 Nov 2010, 18:53, Reply)
The Wonderstuff are always good value as a live gig.

(, Sun 14 Nov 2010, 18:51, Reply)
Haven't seen them for about 20 years.
I really liked their first album, then they went a bit 'meh' for me.
(, Sun 14 Nov 2010, 18:54, Reply)
Last time they toured
The played 8 legged groove machine in it's entirety.

So you'd have enjoyed that.
(, Sun 14 Nov 2010, 18:57, Reply)
Yeah, I missed it unfortunately
due to terminal skintness at the time.
(, Sun 14 Nov 2010, 18:59, Reply)
Starts singing
It's yer, money I'm after baby.
(, Sun 14 Nov 2010, 19:05, Reply)
Arsenal won, Chelsea lost, nearly finished my assignment,
avoided getting bummed last night and had a nice time on friday. That is all.
(, Sun 14 Nov 2010, 18:40, Reply)
Who wanted to bum you?

(, Sun 14 Nov 2010, 18:48, Reply)
Some bloke called Felix apparently.
*has been catching up*
(, Sun 14 Nov 2010, 18:51, Reply)
Is it worth me going back and reading
Or shall I just continue thinking 'Bob, he is a right massive BUMDER'?
(, Sun 14 Nov 2010, 18:52, Reply)
The latter.
Less effort.
(, Sun 14 Nov 2010, 18:55, Reply)
Thanks.
Saves me looking into it.
(, Sun 14 Nov 2010, 18:58, Reply)
I am a paragon of helpfulness.
With a smidge of 'cunt' thrown in.
(, Sun 14 Nov 2010, 19:00, Reply)
That makes you sound like a kindly woman.

(, Sun 14 Nov 2010, 19:05, Reply)
I am fully in touch with my feminine side, thank you very much.

(, Sun 14 Nov 2010, 19:10, Reply)
+ ducky

(, Sun 14 Nov 2010, 19:12, Reply)
Bitch.

(, Sun 14 Nov 2010, 19:56, Reply)
None whatsoever
Fucking boring weekend. Rather shit too.
(, Sun 14 Nov 2010, 18:41, Reply)
No weekend highlights
this week I have additional tutes because I was ill last week, going out tuesday and wednesday and possibly friday
(, Sun 14 Nov 2010, 18:46, Reply)
Gonna go 'down the Union'?

(, Sun 14 Nov 2010, 18:48, Reply)
nope
I'm no union-hack
(, Sun 14 Nov 2010, 18:56, Reply)
So what'll you do?

(, Sun 14 Nov 2010, 18:57, Reply)
pub mostly
club on Tuesday. Gaaay night
(, Sun 14 Nov 2010, 18:59, Reply)
Is Bob taking you out?

(, Sun 14 Nov 2010, 19:06, Reply)
I'm not ginger
and no. Gay night is a regular social event
(, Sun 14 Nov 2010, 19:07, Reply)
My love of gay clubs is probably a major factor in the lack of nookie in my past life.

(, Sun 14 Nov 2010, 19:08, Reply)
I usually pull
in the sense of a casual kiss etc. But these days I try not to, since there are so many eighteen year old freshers around
(, Sun 14 Nov 2010, 19:10, Reply)
Unexpectedly bumped into an old friend on Tuesday, turns out she now works for one of our suppliers.

(, Sun 14 Nov 2010, 18:51, Reply)
When you say 'suppliers'
Do you mean 'rival drug dealers' - or proper supplier? For a proper job.
(, Sun 14 Nov 2010, 18:53, Reply)
How dare you tar me with the implied brush of DRUCKS.
I'll have you know my body is a temple Welsh Methodist tabernacle.

Also, if you're in Leeds city centre next Saturday you may well see me being huge, lanky and somewhat more effeminate than usual.
(, Sun 14 Nov 2010, 19:00, Reply)
Any particular reason?

(, Sun 14 Nov 2010, 19:06, Reply)
There's an event on.

(, Sun 14 Nov 2010, 19:09, Reply)
does it require especially effeminate dressing?

(, Sun 14 Nov 2010, 19:10, Reply)
Well it is (shall we say) an "alternative" event; I would be more welcome in that guise than I would as my usual scruffy-old-knacker self.

(, Sun 14 Nov 2010, 19:12, Reply)
fair enough
it's Queer Week here, so I need to think of a good costume if I get tickets to Queer bop
(, Sun 14 Nov 2010, 19:15, Reply)
Queer Week?

(, Sun 14 Nov 2010, 19:19, Reply)
yeah organized events here
usually talks/lectures, sessions on trans issues etc. I am unsure how I feel about it since some of the stuff isn't really queer, it's just gay
(, Sun 14 Nov 2010, 19:20, Reply)
Do gay nights become
'Queer for a beer'?
(, Sun 14 Nov 2010, 19:24, Reply)
umm no
very occasionally they become straight for a mate
(, Sun 14 Nov 2010, 19:27, Reply)
Ah no, this is a piss-up first and foremost.

(, Sun 14 Nov 2010, 19:29, Reply)
our tuesday nights then
or queerbop, which is amazing
(, Sun 14 Nov 2010, 19:31, Reply)
This brings a whole new meaning to the term
'Going out on a bender'
(, Sun 14 Nov 2010, 19:33, Reply)
Sounds right up my street.

(, Sun 14 Nov 2010, 19:15, Reply)
have you ever dressed in drag?
edit: that's quite rude to just ask actually. Sorry
(, Sun 14 Nov 2010, 19:17, Reply)
I did use to wear a shirt, tie and waistcoat at work sometimes, years ago.
For some reason the guys loved it.
(, Sun 14 Nov 2010, 19:19, Reply)
I can imagine
I did for a solidarity night out but wasn't very convincing. The face was fine, but the hair and shortness were instant giveaways
(, Sun 14 Nov 2010, 19:22, Reply)
I had very short hair too.
I think it was the whole androgenous thing.
(, Sun 14 Nov 2010, 19:38, Reply)
It's all of one or all of the other with me.

(, Sun 14 Nov 2010, 19:48, Reply)
I could have gone to Leeds this weekend
But couldn't be arsed.
(, Sun 14 Nov 2010, 19:06, Reply)
Aw! we could have met up for drinks.

(, Sun 14 Nov 2010, 19:07, Reply)
Are you close to Leeds?

(, Sun 14 Nov 2010, 19:13, Reply)
An hour away by train.

(, Sun 14 Nov 2010, 19:14, Reply)
Not that that close then!

(, Sun 14 Nov 2010, 19:19, Reply)
If you say so.

(, Sun 14 Nov 2010, 19:24, Reply)
An hour is ages away.
Unless you travel at half-a-mile-per-hour
(, Sun 14 Nov 2010, 19:27, Reply)
some fucked up man on mdma at my mates party would not stop touching me
It was horrible.
(, Sun 14 Nov 2010, 19:32, Reply)
Did he
'touch your bum? this is life'

Cheeky-Cheeky.
(, Sun 14 Nov 2010, 19:34, Reply)
no but he rubbed my face, chest and arms.

(, Sun 14 Nov 2010, 19:36, Reply)
That's bad form.
Even high there are protocols to be followed.
(, Sun 14 Nov 2010, 19:37, Reply)
I know, it wasn't too bad but he wouldn't leave me alone, kept followign me everywhere.

(, Sun 14 Nov 2010, 19:41, Reply)
How did you put a stop to this behaviour?

(, Sun 14 Nov 2010, 19:38, Reply)
I left the party.

(, Sun 14 Nov 2010, 19:39, Reply)
You should have stated that you weren't on teh same buzz as him.
And told him it was inappropriate.
(, Sun 14 Nov 2010, 19:40, Reply)
I did, but he didn't get it.

(, Sun 14 Nov 2010, 19:42, Reply)
Then you should have punched him.
That sort of behaviour is not on.
(, Sun 14 Nov 2010, 19:47, Reply)
True but I didn't know him and he was a friend of the host.

(, Sun 14 Nov 2010, 19:54, Reply)
Fair enough.
If you aren't enjoying it thanks to a bender on a drugs bender then that makes sense.
(, Sun 14 Nov 2010, 19:41, Reply)
I don't think so.

(, Sun 14 Nov 2010, 19:36, Reply)
What?

(, Sun 14 Nov 2010, 19:37, Reply)
Depending on why your travelling, I don't think an hour is a very long journey.

(, Sun 14 Nov 2010, 19:38, Reply)
*Beams*
You consider an hour a short journey to meet me?
(, Sun 14 Nov 2010, 19:40, Reply)
hahaha! of course.
It's actually two hours really if you count the journey back.
(, Sun 14 Nov 2010, 19:41, Reply)
Would you walk
500-miles and then walk 500 more?
(, Sun 14 Nov 2010, 19:42, Reply)
Only if it means I'm the women who walks 1000 miles to be at your door.

(, Sun 14 Nov 2010, 19:46, Reply)
:)

(, Sun 14 Nov 2010, 19:47, Reply)
The train would take less time if it didn't stop absolutely everywhere.

(, Sun 14 Nov 2010, 19:27, Reply)
True
But I don't imagine Blousie would charter her own train to meet someone who wasn't there anyway.
(, Sun 14 Nov 2010, 19:35, Reply)
I quite like train journeys as long as the train isn't packed.

(, Sun 14 Nov 2010, 19:49, Reply)
That might just be worth taking the trip in.

(, Sun 14 Nov 2010, 19:06, Reply)
I'm near enough up to date with work
got a potential lead on someone looking for a housemate next year, and might be getting a solution to the hopeless romantic bit as well (though it could end up being a somewhat complicated one). Amazing how much things can change between 2 posts on here :D
(, Sun 14 Nov 2010, 20:24, Reply)
They're always bloody complicated.

(, Sun 14 Nov 2010, 20:30, Reply)
Aye, but very much worth it when things go right

(, Sun 14 Nov 2010, 20:46, Reply)
What is this things go right you speak of?
