I failed to pull at The Blousie Internet Disco
So I'm going to have a bottle and wine and drown my sorrows whist watching Phil Taylor and Ted Hanky in the 'Grand Slam of Darts'

What are you doing?
(, Mon 15 Nov 2010, 22:04, 131 replies, latest was 15 years ago)
Slowly working my way through the entire recorded works of Zoviet France.

(, Mon 15 Nov 2010, 22:08, Reply)
I've had a couple of bottles of Hobgoblin
because they were £1 a bottle at the Tescos on my way home from work, but sadly they didn't have it in my local Tesco so I've had to switch to Marstons Pedigree. Sad times.
(, Mon 15 Nov 2010, 22:13, Reply)
I don't mind Marstons
Who have you got this weekend?
(, Mon 15 Nov 2010, 22:15, Reply)
Bloody Stoke
They always turn us over, the hoofing fouling bastards.
(, Mon 15 Nov 2010, 22:16, Reply)
I hate Pulis after what he did when he managed my lot.
I'd never seen so many 0-0's.
(, Mon 15 Nov 2010, 22:19, Reply)
doesn't matter who manages them
Tony fucking Mowbray couldn't make Stoke into an attractive passing side.

Who've you got?
(, Mon 15 Nov 2010, 22:22, Reply)
We've got some bloke called Sven coming to visit.

(, Mon 15 Nov 2010, 22:24, Reply)
Our neighbours to the East?
The People's Republic of Leicester?
(, Mon 15 Nov 2010, 22:29, Reply)
The very same.
I can't see us getting anything from the game.
(, Mon 15 Nov 2010, 22:31, Reply)
Don't be like that
You could be Sunderland at Chelsea, or Albion at Arsenal.

Is that the "it's now a teaching college for NO REASON" season?

(, Mon 15 Nov 2010, 22:23, Reply)
yeah
It's also the make the main character a female jd and watch as it just doesn't work
(, Mon 15 Nov 2010, 22:24, Reply)
I used to love scrubs until I realised I hated JD. I love Cox, wahey, and Kelso.

(, Mon 15 Nov 2010, 22:32, Reply)
it took me until the final series to realise how annoying JD was
the new college series is fucking dreadful.

everyone involved should be put to death. just because none of them could find other work doesn't mean that they should carry on flogging that horse.
(, Mon 15 Nov 2010, 22:35, Reply)
Stayed away from the new series thought it looked pap.
Did you want a copy of a wire? cause I've done an extra one just in case.
(, Mon 15 Nov 2010, 22:36, Reply)
don't bother watching it. it's worse than you can imagine.
thanks but no, got too many other series to be getting on with at the moment.

although my post below may look like that isn't the case, I just failed to bring anything with me today.
(, Mon 15 Nov 2010, 22:38, Reply)
No worries, I can give it to someone as a chrimbo present.

I liked most of scrubs loved some of it but yeah not impressed with this one
(, Mon 15 Nov 2010, 22:37, Reply)
I loved it
apart from the final series of the original when JD just pissed me off. Fortunately it had pretty much become the Dr Cox and Janitor show by then which was fine by me.

how's it going?
(, Mon 15 Nov 2010, 22:40, Reply)
THREAD JACK
Bristol Nutters, best in the world. Just got back in from showing my canadian friend the best pub in bristol the Cadbury. A utopia where long haired bohemian types congregate and smoke weed in the garden. No sooner had we sat down than over comes pissed hippy sits next to us and proceeds to pull out a clarinet and then entertain us with train and geese noises. Then wanted to swap pills for weed before spilling a 2 litre bottle of ginger beer over himself. Brilliant. What nutters have you come across?
(, Mon 15 Nov 2010, 22:20, Reply)
I once played cricket in the nets at the Cadbury
Nothing strange there, only the crusty I was playing again insisted his traffic cone was a much better bat than the cricket bat that was already there.

(Do they still have cricket nets in the garden?)

The Cadbury, I've not been there in ages, they used to have a great jukebox and original Space Invaders 'back in the day'.
(, Mon 15 Nov 2010, 22:26, Reply)
Still a juke box, no arcade or nets
just sofas outside and pool table. And now a fire pit. Awesome.
(, Mon 15 Nov 2010, 22:28, Reply)
The cricket nets were great back in the day.
Do they still do a fantastic sunday lunch?
(, Mon 15 Nov 2010, 22:32, Reply)
It's more burger and chips these days, I haven't eaten there for a while.

(, Mon 15 Nov 2010, 22:35, Reply)
They used to have a Reggae Roast on a sunday.

Couple of weeks ago in Bradford interchange, an otherwise sane-looking fellow started making conversation at the urinal(!)
As I didn't want to be rude, and it would have been far more awkward to ignore him, the conversation went something like this:

"A lot of people don't like me."
"Why's that?"
"It's because I'm black."
"That's not right."
"Do you know where cowboys live?"
"Eh?"
"Do you know where cowboys live?"
"...America?"
"What bit of America."
"The wild West?"
"Yeah, Texas."

At this point I made an excuse and swiftly left (a genuine one, mind - I was in danger of missing my bus.) A few minutes later I saw he was trying his luck with someone waiting on one of the other stands.

I like Huddersfield
Or more importantly I like Lee Clark, who is a truly beautiful man.
I've just jumped ship to Liverpool, tried to break into the top six with Huddersfield and it's actually impossible.
(, Mon 15 Nov 2010, 22:36, Reply)
Based on early season form (in real life)
Some would argue that going from Hudderfield to Liverpool is a step down!
(, Mon 15 Nov 2010, 22:39, Reply)
I must say I do like them failing
Well, Hodgson failing. He's got what he deserves.
(, Mon 15 Nov 2010, 22:44, Reply)
A mate of mine went to University in Huddersfield
and considers that reason enough to support Town. It's a genius strategy for those that don't want to get sucked into a football conversation but don't want the stick you get for not being interested in football (although he is). Generally slopebrows looking for a football argument have no answer if when asked you profess allegiance to a lower league club.
(, Mon 15 Nov 2010, 23:26, Reply)
It works for me!
Although the number of times my 'I support Bristol City' has been met with 'Well who are your Premier League club?' and 'Why don't you support someone good?' has been many.

Normally, it is a comment from some glory hunter who will says, 'I support 'insert name of time team' it's only when you say, 'I've not been to 'insert associated ground' in ages, I've only been there 'however few times' - where do you sit/drink-pre-match?'

That the truth comes out. The support extends to buying the old shirt each year from Sports Direct for a fiver and watching the telly. They've never been and wouldn't have a club about how to get a ticket.

I've taped up my back inside a cardboard box so I can now feel what it feels like to be a female sea turtle.

What else do you make?

(, Mon 15 Nov 2010, 23:03, Reply)
Are we talking just puddings here?
Either way, lots of stuff. I'm fairly sure BGB, Noel or Amberl will vouch for me here when I say I make some pretty damn good cake. Carrot cake and brownies being my two specialities.
Savoury stuff/actual food... well, I make lots of that too. Lots of soup.
(, Mon 15 Nov 2010, 23:06, Reply)
I love carrot cake

(, Mon 15 Nov 2010, 23:13, Reply)
how much icing will there be?

(, Mon 15 Nov 2010, 23:15, Reply)
How much do you want?
Personally I think too much is sickly - I only ice the top, I don't cut it in half and ice the middle, too.
(, Mon 15 Nov 2010, 23:17, Reply)
I expect both the top and middle to be iced
But if you are only going to ice one bit, surely it makes more sense to ice the middle, thus making handling of said cake easier?
(, Mon 15 Nov 2010, 23:18, Reply)
But it involves extra faff
slicing the middle and icing it, when you can just ice the top. The icing is good too (obviously) but I like to be able to taste the cake.
(, Mon 15 Nov 2010, 23:22, Reply)
How much extra faff is there in slicing a cake down the middle?

(, Mon 15 Nov 2010, 23:24, Reply)
When you make it
you can decide how it's done. Until then, be grateful for the offer of very tasty cake from a pretty young lady :P
(, Mon 15 Nov 2010, 23:25, Reply)
BERK WINS... FATALITY!

(, Mon 15 Nov 2010, 23:28, Reply)
That's as maybe
But if doesn't have icing in the middle, I'm not interested.

*Stomps feet and gets a bit sulky*
(, Mon 15 Nov 2010, 23:31, Reply)
I'm sure I can manage that
I still feel underappreciated though *pouts*
(, Mon 15 Nov 2010, 23:36, Reply)
No wonder you have had problem with your

cupcakes are convenient because they're portion sized, but I tend to make proper sized cakes mainly. The bakewell cupcakes I did for the bash were awesome - I think I ate most of them though. The limoncello drizzle cupcake I do is pretty damn good too.
