Right I need some new TV to watch.
I'm thinking about the Event but I'm open to other suggestions.
So suggest please.

The Walking Dead.

Must...resist...obvious and unfunny...strikethrough...

(, Tue 16 Nov 2010, 16:05, Reply)
Yeah I'm watching that at the moment,
I like it, but I don't like waiting a week for the next episode I'd like a show with at least a season already aired.

Misfits

(, Tue 16 Nov 2010, 16:07, Reply)
Hmm, good point I've watched the first 2 or 3 and really enjoyed them.

Season? Are you American?

(, Tue 16 Nov 2010, 16:17, Reply)
Most the shows I watch are.

(, Tue 16 Nov 2010, 16:19, Reply)
But we can still use the term "series" like proper Englishmen, surely.

(, Tue 16 Nov 2010, 16:26, Reply)
I watched the first one this morning
Its really good!

Watching The Event too - kind of like 24 crossed with Lost and a sprinkling of X Files
(, Tue 16 Nov 2010, 16:05, Reply)
Supernatural
default answer there

I haven't watched anything new on tv in ages. All I can say is don't watch Lip Service or 'Him and Her.' Whoever wrote/commissioned/starred in Him and Her should be put to death
(, Tue 16 Nov 2010, 16:05, Reply)
No thanks.
Looks pretty gay.
(, Tue 16 Nov 2010, 16:06, Reply)
It's not
it's very heterosexual
(, Tue 16 Nov 2010, 16:07, Reply)
Supernatural?
The same show I found gay slashfiction on a suspect's computer about?

I LIKE THIS
Him and her is shit.
(, Tue 16 Nov 2010, 16:06, Reply)
It's terminally unfunny
and the main characters are repulsive human beings. The girlfriend is twisted and actually quite sick, while the boyfriend appears to be actually mentally retarded
(, Tue 16 Nov 2010, 16:08, Reply)
Are we still talking about supernatural?

Hello there Monty!

(, Tue 16 Nov 2010, 16:12, Reply)
very shit
It's taken 'low key humour' into no humour at all. I watched the first one and I'm not getting that time back
(, Tue 16 Nov 2010, 16:30, Reply)
The Event is pretty good if you're willing to just go along with it.
My mother wasn't expecting the Sci-Fi element and as a result was WUT, I am more easy going and I quite liked it.
Obvious answer, Glee. It's a modern masterpiece.
(, Tue 16 Nov 2010, 16:07, Reply)
is it on iplayer or 4od or something?
edit: I don't mean glee btw
(, Tue 16 Nov 2010, 16:08, Reply)
4OD, whole season so far
but some episodes are timing out in the next few days.
(, Tue 16 Nov 2010, 16:10, Reply)
i might give it a little of my time

(, Tue 16 Nov 2010, 16:26, Reply)
I'm so far behind on tv shows
I need to finish Lost (on season 4), and watch the last season of 24, plus watch more Dexter, Better Off Ted, Arrested Development and finally start The Mentalist and The Walking Dead.

Ask AA's granddad.
He told his dad in 1964 that one day NB would be in a metal band. AA was told this on his 8th birthday.

Seriously?
It's one of the best TV programmes ever made. It has Toshiro Mifune in it - and the bloke who took over the role of Pigsy in Monkey who wasn't half as good. It also has Jim Carver from The Bill in it - and there are some beeeautiful Japanese actresses too.

It's loosely based on a true story. I fucking love Shogun.

And Geof, who is not a woman, is my favorite.
(, Tue 16 Nov 2010, 16:37, Reply)
really?
I thought it was Ace of Cakes - it reminded me of that program set in a motorbike place only with cakes
(, Tue 16 Nov 2010, 16:38, Reply)
yeah, definitely thinking of Cake Boss.
Ace of Cakes is more of "we're all random and eccentric and artistic and we whistle and get on eachothers nerves a lot but we love eachother and have a lot of fun"

The Pacific, Five Days [missed the middle bit], The Inbetweeners [only have seen the first season], oh and since the lovely, Broadsword has sent me a copy I reckon tonight I shall finish This is England '86.

I watched Legends of the Fall on sunday night, I cried my bloody eyes out.

Have you tried Weeds? It's pretty good and there are 6 whole seasons out already.

I've also watched a couple of episodes of The Mentalist, that's good so far.

And finally there's one called Life about a copper who was framed and put in prison, then he gets released and goes back to the force. It sounds lame but it's pretty good.

See also, Nurse Jacki and United States of Tara.

^ this
Why does every American series seem to have to end its stories with a fucking moral? Even perfectly good episodes of Family Guy have been ruined by the inherent need for one of the characters to "learn a lesson" at the end of what would have been fine as just 20 minutes of inanity and puerile jokes.
