Whilst I'm tempted to say that things seem to be looking up, that's traditionally when life, that frightful willy-marmoset, takes a long run-up and boots you square in the knackers, so I think I shall keep schtum at this juncture.

yeah, this sounds correct - black people are refusing the free vaccination against a deadly disease that they are being actively contacted about and offered, because of 'racism'. Definitely nothing to do with ignorant scaremongering in their own communities fuelled by stupidity and science denial - it's other people's fault.
(, Thu 6 May 2021, 8:29, archived)
Combine that with relentless anti-vaxx shite being constantly pushed by 'influencers', who themselves are overwhelmingly white and middle-class, and therefore in the lowest-risk group already, and this is what you get.
(, Thu 6 May 2021, 8:33, archived)
Only a fucking wanker would refuse a vaccination - therefore, the people refusing their vaccinations are, in my expert opinion, fucking wankers. Selfish, stupid fucking wankers, at that - I don't care what colour they are.
(, Thu 6 May 2021, 8:36, archived)
Clearly not. Age is a barrier to understanding, but it's not the only one. Education, cultural context, misinformation - there are many reasonable things that prevent good people from fully understanding a situation. Ironically your own naive black & white absolutism is another example.
(, Thu 6 May 2021, 8:59, archived)
Do these jabs protect you and those around you? Yes
Is Bill Gates trying to inject you with 5G microchips? No he fucking isn't
These *are* 'black and white absolutes' and anyone who believes otherwise is the naive one, not me.
At some point if you're an adult and don't have learning disabilities, you have to take responsibility for yourself and stop making excuses. Science denial and anti-mask, anti vax bullshit kills people - I couldn't give a shit if your community has had poor relations with the government/police etc - get a jab and wear a mask you stupid cunts.

I however agree with them as this whole Covid business has blatantly been engineered from the start to usher in an age of medical totalitarianism, draconian social control and mass population reduction to satisfy the elite cabal that have been directing society from the shadows for millennia.
(, Thu 6 May 2021, 8:39, archived)
ignorant scaremongering doesn't discriminate by community. If anything there are probably far more white anti-vaxxers than black ones, because they fall in with the general QAnon/Trumpet/thick as pigshit crowd.
(, Thu 6 May 2021, 8:41, archived)
In America, anti-vaxxers are disproportionately white. But the nonsense can also find fertile ground in people who have a history of being treated like crap by the medical establishment.
(, Thu 6 May 2021, 8:44, archived)
the reasons are varied, and deeply rooted in distrust of state and medical organisations. Members of communities that have faced wide-ranging discrimination are probably more likely to have reservations about such things, and mix that into the foetid soup of misinformation that is the internet and you've got a foul mix.
Saying "it's because of racism" is unhelpful [although, reading the article, I can't see anyone who actually said that - it's a clickbait headline] but calling them names is even less helpful.
(, Thu 6 May 2021, 8:51, archived)
If I was black I'd DEFINITELY trust the government. Yes, sir-ee, after windrush and Grenfell I'd definitely put my trust in the authorities to put my interest first. No question about it.
(, Thu 6 May 2021, 9:04, archived)

A bit racist, you might say.
'Oh they've been treated awfully in the past, it's not their fault they're jeopardising their lives and those around them, they don't know any better due to poor education, bless them'
(, Thu 6 May 2021, 9:18, archived)
Black communities were passed over in favour of white and South Asian ones in information campaigns, even though they have a lengthy track record of poor coverage in vaccinations
so maybe the black community doesn't trust the government, but maybe if the government had made any effort at all to create that trust, Lenny Henry wouldn't have had to run that campaign

but there's clearly a reason why black people don't trust the jab and I doubt it's selfishness.
To be honest none of us have given a fuck about the education levels of misinformation put around in minority communities - we don't care. It's not our problem until now it is and suddenly we're all "oh why won't these people trust medical science and government advice what's wrong with them" when we've all given no fucks about them for the last fifty years.
Bit late.

White idiots are just as likely to be science-denying anti-vax morons - as Tea pointed out above, in the US these people are overwhelmingly white. Anyone who believes that shit - anyone at all, from any ethnic or socioeconomic group, is a fucking idiot. No excuses for any of them: they're risking people's lives because they're mugs who've watched some prick on YouTube telling them it's a 'scamdemic', that is inexcusable save for if you have learning difficulties.

churches. Fucking hell, the state of the Old Kent Road on a Sunday morning. I swear some of the driving is being done by the Holy Spirit because it sure as fuck isn't someone who's passed a driving test, and the parking is beyond anything you've ever seen.
