planning a trip to japan in oct, just talking about it atm
might not happen but would be great if it does.
i haven't been abroad for fucking ages.
and never anywhere in the far east
(, Sat 25 Apr 2026, 19:23, Reply)
actually the last time i went abroad was when someone was doing 140 in a 40 zone on a bike
and the police kept coming to my house like i had anything to do with it and so i panicked and rode to spain for a few weeks. came back and the cunts were still knocking. wasn't me tho so all came good in the end.
(, Sat 25 Apr 2026, 19:28, Reply)
I went to Japan. That was 2002 tho. I'm sure much has changed.

(, Sat 25 Apr 2026, 19:33, Reply)
i wanted to be there for the year 2000
so, yeah. anyway i've got a thing on learning japanese so i've got to go. i already know three words of chinese fluently as well. and i had a mongolian blue spot when i was born. i'm basically one of them. i'm a slant eye. i just want to go home.

i'm starting to eat more asian style food, like cooking it. mainly because i genuinely like it, so i was in an asian grocery store and i just wanted to try sake. difficult to describe it. tastes like way more spirity than 16% abv. definitely warms you up which for most of the time in japan i would have thought that's the last thing you'd want.
(, Sat 25 Apr 2026, 19:08, Reply)
Japan gets very cold in the winter in some places

(, Sat 25 Apr 2026, 19:37, Reply)
yes i know that professor
in japanese culture you heat the person not the house an all, (traditional) houses are designed to mitigate the summer heat, few have central heating, it'd be pretty pointless, as they're drafty as fuck so yeah a warming drink in the winter with your 12 layers of clothing and your heated carpet is probably warranted.
(, Sat 25 Apr 2026, 19:41, Reply)
They have aircon

(, Sat 25 Apr 2026, 19:47, Reply)
i'll fucking aircon you in a minute

also i literally bought a bag of pure msg today. fucking can't wait to get my nose into that

One thing with Japan is they say things are ancient. Many of the original sites are, the monuments and buildings destroyed and rebuilt due to earthquakes and wars.

(, Sat 25 Apr 2026, 21:59, Reply)
second bottle of sake tastes drastically smoother than the first and not just because i've had a few beers in between
wow that is hugely more nicer than the first. so much smoother. colour is completely white instead of slightly straw coloured. god that is, yeah, if proper money sake is way better than this which wasn't expensive maybe i could like sake
(, Sat 25 Apr 2026, 22:02, Reply)
