It might have been hilarious if Michael Dorn wore the old style makeup and none of the other characters even noticed, but that's not what they went with.
In reality the matter was left at "[Klingons] do not talk about it" until the producers of Enterprise came along. We got an awful two-parter about genetic engineering, with Brent Spiner crammed in to try and keep the fans interested. My advice to you is to not watch that one.

I got a letter printed where I corrected them on how YouTube adverts work (or at least how advertisers are charged for them).

That said, they share my opinion on Social Media marketing as being this generation's 'snake oil'. Largely untrackable and unattributable, and mostly a big fat waste of company money. But every idiotic MD i've worked for in the last 10 years has felt compelled to be doing "something" on social media, and hoping for deafening applause in the weekly meeting when the company's FB page gets another 20 'likes' that week.
