(Thread )
as it's quiet tonight
have an arty post - a model I'm working on* Yes, it is low fucking poly, and yes it may be used for a game.* I remember when that phrase meant I was about to get a slap from an anorexic girl

Sculptris?
Nice arm muscles. Been messing with Zbrush today. Great program, but the interface is evil.

sculptris indeed.
ZBrush isn't a program, it's an exercise in making people go insane. Worst. Interface. Ever. Sculptris does the modelling side of things a thousand times better than Zbrush. It's just a shame that it doesn't have any of the power features that ZBrush has. I spent most of yesterday scouring the web for ways to avoid using ZBrush and discovered a neat little 3DS plugin called Wrapit, which does semi-automated low-poly topology creation around hi-poly meshes. Very useful and allows me to avoid opening ZBrush ever again.

a programme is an itinerary of events.
a program is a software application.

Oh.
I assumed that Zbrush was an algorithmic process for within sculptris, I did not know that it was software in it's own right. Now I feel dirty.

That one was deliberate, a kind of clever jest.
I take no pride in that though, the programme one was not.

if it is used for a game
will it be a goody or a baddy?

depends on your perspective.
Is the player automatically a goody, or not? Would creatures under the player's control be assigned the same good or bad alignment as the player?

hmmm
the player is potentially a bad guy, I'd say the creature would be assigned the same alignment as the player.

in the game, the player will play a bad
guy, but will end up doing some good by the story's end. So I guess Neville is a bad creature, but working for the player, so it's not his fault.

sculptris is fantastic

turn the detail slider down to about 10%
and it should prevent the mesh from getting too detailed. If it still gets slow, hit the reduction button a few times to simplify the whole mesh.

can't - it's not a mythical creature.
It's currently on my sofa, looking through the want ads. I think it wants to buy a new monocle.
