# I blame the sick tv manufacturers
showing these poor children the things they should own that they can't afford, so the kids go out and steal them, only to turn the big tvs on to see more things they should own.

the sick, sick bastards, won't somebody stop them?!

# I know. It's not even like they can learn their history from Hollywood movies any more.

# Is it ironic that they burned down the Sony warehouse
so all those Currys won't be able to restock their 42" Bravias?

No, thought not.

# I have to agree to a point
people (and the stupid police) are still trying to blame games like GTA for the shit that's happened the past few days, whereas I believe it's things like tv, gambling (slot machines, scratch cards, national lottery etc.) that have far more influence on the younger generation, showing them if they get lucky they can get all they want without having to work for it, and as they haven't gotten lucky they decided to take what they want

I forgot to add gameshows to the list, showing people winning lots of money/things for doing very little

# Even older games, like Snakes and Ladders, Ludo, Snap
or stories like, say, Puss in Boots. Completely idle young man is helped into a position of wealth under false pretences by his disingenuous cat.

# I've played GTAIII a few times
My favourite hobby is stalking the streets at 3AM and kicking grannies to death. If only we'd given these poor blighters more PS2s with GTAIII they could have had hours of entertainment teaching themselves how to kick grannies to death in the streets! Instead, they're so deprived that they can't even have a console worth hundreds of pounds and have to go onto the streets, set fires and steal things.

Imagine their disappointment when they learn that the PS2 isn't on sale anymore and they had to nick a PS3 and GTAIV instead :( Poor little buggers. We should have a whip-around for them.

# I love playing Just Cause 2, having fun smashing cars & killing the bad guys in various different ways using the grappling hook the main character has
but that doesn't mean I want to do it for real

# I enjoyed that game :D
(, Wed 10 Aug 2011, 13:01, archived)
# Never played that
Also, I've never had the urge to kick grannies to death on the street, or find a long line of Hare Krishnas and run them over one after the other. I wonder if something's wrong with us? I mean, the media are telling us that violent games cause violent crimes, and yet we're showing no inclination to commit violent crimes!

# thank you
i foresee three problems with this

1) i'd be sitting naked (or at least trouserless) at my desk
2) i'd have to have two portal guns so that i could make a flush, too
3) it would begin to smell a bit

but to be reasonable, these aren't problems so much as being all teh fun.
