# re: you not twatting head on bog
I definitely didn't faint for the first time ever on Monday morning, channeling 12 stone of unconscious dead weight to floor via nose without the intervention of fall-breaking arms.
So I certainly don't look like a grim Detroit PD mugshot at the moment.
(, Sat 8 Oct 2011, 0:34, archived)
# ouch!
fainted myself a couple of days ago. fell sideways off my chair in my mum's kitchen. she nearly shat herself! had to lie on the couch for over and hour before i could even lift my head without feeling dizzy. luckily, i didn't injure myself.
(, Sat 8 Oct 2011, 0:38, archived)
# Never considered fainting before, so didn't realise how it works.
You're suddenly unconscious. Meaning:
If you happen to be moving forward at the time, you'll fall forwards with some momentum.
And, being unconscious, you're not going to put your arms out to break your fall.
Just like the 'stepping on a rake' thing, only with rather more force.
Mind you, nothing wakes you up like a sudden broken nose.
Wish it'd been filmed, it would've been hilarious. Eventually.
(, Sat 8 Oct 2011, 0:49, archived)
# with me
it was headache, dizziness, then my mum screaming and me on the floor. do you know why you fainted?
(, Sat 8 Oct 2011, 0:53, archived)
# That sounds a tad unjust.
Like being moaned at for sleeping through your alarm.

"LOOK ! I WAS A-FUCKING-SLEEP! I HAD NO CONSCIOUS INFLUENCE ON THIS TURN OF EVENTS WHATSOEVER, FUCKFLAPS! SO SHOVE IT BACK UP YER ARSE, Y'COCK-SMOKING IMBECILE! ANYWAY, HAPPY MOTHERS' DAY."

# I did faint once while walking forwards
Like the twin towers, I collapsed into my own footprints without the aid of external forces.

No bruises or broken noses.

I really am sorry if this doesn't help.
(, Sat 8 Oct 2011, 3:16, archived)
# Oh, but it does.
I must remember this lesson next time I spontaneously fall unconscious!

# French curves IRL
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/French_curve

I have a bendy plastic one around here somewhere. In Photoshop you can generate bezier curves with the Pen Tool, but Illustrator is better suited to this kind vector graphics.
(, Sat 8 Oct 2011, 0:36, archived)
# I have various
french curves all over my desk. gathering dust, with my pencils and paint brushes :(
(, Sat 8 Oct 2011, 1:54, archived)
# I use the PS pen tool and play around with the bezier points.
It's a bit fiddly at first but if you get the hang of using keyboard shortcuts to control the tools it quickly becomes comfortable.
Should probably use Illustrator for that kind of thing but I've never been sufficiently motivated to learn it given that PS is so familiar.
