# urg... i thought so...

(, Sat 13 Mar 2004, 0:12, archived)
# Argh.
No offence to your work, but I can't stand that song.

I was hoping it would bean ode to toilet bowls.
(, Sat 13 Mar 2004, 0:09, archived)
# I quite liked the song
who was it?
(, Sat 13 Mar 2004, 0:11, archived)
# Red Hot Chili Peppers
i like their old albums a little better,(the case for most bands)
it's from the album "Californication"
(, Sat 13 Mar 2004, 0:11, archived)
# I would argue
that RHCP are the exception to that rule - their work from Califonication onwards has been better than anything else they have done in my opinion.
(, Sat 13 Mar 2004, 0:13, archived)
# I wouldn't go that far.
But Scar Tissue is certainly the best song they have ever written.

# mothers milk
and blood sugar sex magic are 2 of my all time favs. might just be the memories that go with them though.
(, Sat 13 Mar 2004, 0:15, archived)
# Nah.
Don't like their new stuff. It lacks funk.
(, Sat 13 Mar 2004, 0:15, archived)
# They are still
the Funky Monks, no denying it.
(, Sat 13 Mar 2004, 0:17, archived)
# I think
that's why I like it - they are doing more songwriting these days and not relying purely on their outstanding musicianship anymore.

I enjoy listening to their virtuoso playing, but it takes a well written song with a bit more depth to keep me coming back.
(, Sat 13 Mar 2004, 0:18, archived)
# Yeah, I don't think that's what I'm looking for in them.
They're not a band I look to for thought provoking material really.

Maybe it's just because we're approaching it from different directions.

# Really?
I don't think I have any of his stuff.
(, Sat 13 Mar 2004, 0:14, archived)
# I have
a song of his that I recorded backing for ages ago, but he never got round to singing the final version of the vocal.

Maybe one day you will all hear it.

EDIT: And he sings on this... www.mysterybob.com/flipper.htm

# I reckon Alfie has a lovely tone to his voice
he could be great with a few lessons to strengthen his hold on notes.
(, Sat 13 Mar 2004, 0:18, archived)
# alfie once came with me to an after show party one sunday and sang really loud
to a group of techno germans strung out on a weekend of drugs.
some of them really liked it.
some of them were squirming on the floor silently gasping like fish and holding their bleeding ears.
it was very emotional for that time of day.
(, Sat 13 Mar 2004, 0:29, archived)
# Ah, I remember flipper.
