I had the idea one morning while brushing my teeth (together with some other ideas). After brushing my teeth I wrote down my idea and sketched down this one. Today I saw somebody’s interpretation for the word “love”. He did some bunnies and a heart above them. I just thought: stupid bunnies- I should scan in my sketch and turn it into REAL art. I couldn’t decide what style to use at all and was wondering how the shading will be like. So I did outlines and everything and just didn’t like it. Then I got the idea: WELL how about doing something that’s just made out of shapes and …evil word… GRADIENTS!
I know everybody who uses gradients goes straight to hell and they mostly look ugly and every artist will hate you for them but I think gradients DON’T have to look ugly if you know how to use them right. So anyways I gave gradients a try and this is the result. My first picture done with gradients. I cant remember the last time a picture took me longer than 3 hours but it was worth the time. If you are wondering what the background is: I really had NO idea what kind of background I should do. I build the vectors on top of my sketch and then I thought- hey this scanned in sketch doesn’t really look bad as backdrop so I kept it.

say that, rather than just read the text which pretty much explains everything...
