We were discussing fish suppers at work today
everyone I work with is having a fish supper tonight except Jimmy, his wife is cooking roast chicken for his dinner. Jimmy wanted a fish supper but couldbn't have one. We all laughed at him.
i'm settling for a chicken tikka, but i had a chippie last night.

Update for posterity
My fish supper wasn't braw. I feared it was battered by a machine and par cooked 1000 miles away and put on a train to arrive at the shop where they reheated it in a microwave oven.
I live less than a mile from the sea. Sure we get lovely fancy fish with mango puree and a pretty pattern of green stuff but I feel outraged that my humble request was so badly met.
Poor Jimmy, his wife certainly tries hard though.

It certainly was
I got it from a chipper that was taken over by some chinese people, so I had my doubts about the quality of this fish supper but it was surprisingly braw. The best fish supper I've had in a long, long time.
