I also don't see the point in waiting in line to get a game.

Even if I do fully bum the GH series, I wait until it's on a shelf rather than in front of a queue.

(Also, It took me less than 2 and a half hours to beat the last GH game on expert)

I couldn't be arsed to queue

but as I walked into work in the morning, I noticed that a relatively newly opened Tesco had a smaller queue than allocated Wiis. So I smugly bought one and laughed at all the people who had queued for hours in the cold and still missed out.

My friends came over

and beat GHII for me yesterday. ^_^ Basically, they gave me the data off their memory cards. So I have all the songs. Because I suck so much, that I still haven't beaten hard. Heh.

Heh, I've had people ask me to do this.

I admit, I'm yet to beat any of the games with 5 star on expert yet, I'm only about 2 or 3 songs away on each, but I'm rather miffed about that...

I love all the guitar hero games though, I seem to get better each time I stop playing though =D

I've only got 4 stars on it..

I was fucking amazed when I did beat it.

It was just after Glastonbury, so I hadn't played for atleast a week (that is usually a long time for me...)

Cheetz are baaad though =]

good fun to taunt people with mind, as long as its not painfully obvious, go mental, I always love to make people cry in multiplayer games =]

No, I mean, it's a cheat to beat it, but it's obvious if you do it multiplayer. So I figure I'll beat it and take a picture of the screen to show him. It's like, you play an easier part on practice mode, just one section though. Then, as soon as it's finished, pull the plug on the controller. It'll tell you to plug it back in. Do so, click resume, and go to quick play or career. Choose Jordan and then, it literally plays the song for you! And it works for any song! ^_^

Anyhoo, go nuts, that seems like a fantabulous idea!

However, to really screw with them, make sure towards the end you bugger up a few notes so that it doesn't say you got 100%

That will make it seem more realistic, and they may poo themselves ^_^

True. Although it is like me to play a song over and over until I get at least 90. ^_^

It pisses andrew off so much that it's the only song he can't beat. I can't even play on expert. So I may do that for med. or hard...

Medium and hard are incredibly easy compared to expert

The only difficult section is the solo, which on average I fail 9 times out of 10, but only a fraction of a second before the solo ends..

Luckily, I don't cry much.

I've been playing guitar for 6 years and bass for 5, so I suppose that may have provided a slight advantage to the games..

I'm working my way through hard getting 100% on all the songs =]

Done easy and medium already, but I'll be darned if I do all of expert.. I can do a few though =]

Perhaps. Someone at my school thought that since he was great at GH, he could play. That was funny to see proved wrong. I'm starting guitar lessons this weekend, actually. But that means I have to cut my nails, probably. :(

No no no!

Not necessarily, it depends entirely on the way you wish to play!

I learnt to play finger picking before I ever even picked up a plectrum, and it vastly improved the speed at which I learned both guitar AND bass, made it a LOT easier to switch between the two instruments and learn bass fast (which is now my main instrument)

Howevarrrrr..
There is a drawback.

If you don't mix and match, it makes it very difficult to learn with a plectrum in the future.

I'm not great with a plectrum, however hybrid picking (using the plectrum and finger picking at the same time) is almost like second nature to me.

Before you learn to use a plectrum or finger pick, make sure you practise with both styles to vary your abilities in the future =]

Ooh, I like Epiphones. Got myself a cherry SG

If you're starting with an electric, best to concentrate on the pick work a bit more for starters.

If you wan't to really vary styles and techniques, I reccommend getting an acoustic (any will do) just to practise finger picking in a more controlled way.

On acoustics, the necks are wider and so finger picking is easier to practise, then converting to an electric guitar is simple and rewarding =D

Some bits of Halo were great

but the other 99% was horrendously repetitive. I got sooo sick of that circular room with a outer corridor and an inner bit. You know the one I mean.

I don't remember much of Halo 2, other than the Flood reappearing but not being as scary as the first time round.

Hmm. Let me know if 3 is any good...

The single player campaign was interesting, but not gripping.

sadly yeah, although the following weekend we're sorting out a
LAN party and Halo 3 will be included, we're trying to invent
drinking games such as 5 lives slayer with a shot of absinth
if you're (un)lucky enough to die.

Although we're thinking of making it if you kill, so the better
