# ELECTRIC COLOURING IN !

They take f*cking ages, dont they?
(, Mon 19 May 2008, 16:36, archived)
# OH MY FUCKING GOD ITS NOT A VECTOR IT IS CLEARLY MADE OF PIXELS *PROLAPSE*
Lovely pic :)

# ELECTRIC COLOURING IN!
Yes, it's lovely.
(, Mon 19 May 2008, 16:38, archived)
# I spent the best part of yesterday afternoon electric colouring-in
I forgotten how therapeutic it is
(, Mon 19 May 2008, 16:39, archived)
# I know what you mean...
It's really quite relaxing.

And people who don't know that it's basically just tracing think you're actually good at something! :D
(, Mon 19 May 2008, 16:43, archived)
# yeah but the people who say 'oh it's just tracing' don't get that it's not exactly tracing and that there is a hint of artistic judgment involved.

# I'd introduce them to Dictionary Land.
Via the medium of the facecar.

# only child?
(, Mon 19 May 2008, 16:57, archived)
# Nope.
Although what the FUCK that has to do with my pointing out people's lack of intelligence I don't know.

To be fair, I'm not in the best of moods.
(, Mon 19 May 2008, 17:00, archived)
# i was purely picking up on the 'stompsalot' bit
i shall keep my mouth shut now and take cover.
(, Mon 19 May 2008, 17:04, archived)
# I was having a perfectly nice day
and then my client decided to be a cunt, my mate's been fucked around and my team are in a right sullen mood.

Fuck sake. MONDAYS.
(, Mon 19 May 2008, 17:05, archived)
# i'm with you on the first one (mine is mostly the same)
and i sympathise on the other two.

tbh, if clients weren't cunts though, it would suggest we were sucking up to them too much.

# At the moment I'm about I---I this close
to calling her, screaming down the phone, hanging up and resigning.

But I can't do that because of the mortgage. Bah.
(, Mon 19 May 2008, 17:09, archived)
# i once put the phone down on a room full of clients and my own account exec
i wasn't on that account for much longer after that... but that in itself was a blessing in disguise, and got me the role i've got now, which i love (relative to previous one)
(, Mon 19 May 2008, 17:15, archived)
# I have downloaded a couple of Walrus Man's piccys
And sat and coloured them in over a long and dull work evening...It was top fun and very theraputic.

(, Mon 19 May 2008, 16:46, archived)
# That's what I did yesterday ;D
(, Mon 19 May 2008, 16:49, archived)
# I did do vectors...
To start with... but you cant leave it at that can you?

It looked all wrong.
(, Mon 19 May 2008, 16:43, archived)
# Ignore me - just having a dig at all those overly serious arguments here about what is and isn't a vector ;)
I couldn't care less how it's made (unless it really is a technical marvel of thousands of nodes and curves - but that just gets my detail-cock hard) just as long as it looks great :)
(, Mon 19 May 2008, 16:48, archived)
# you mean me
don't you? ;)
(, Mon 19 May 2008, 16:49, archived)
# Oh it's all about YOU isn't it dear?
Here - have a sip of tea and a jaffacake ;)
(, Mon 19 May 2008, 16:52, archived)
# I have
coffee and pepperami hot thanks.
(, Mon 19 May 2008, 16:54, archived)
# These bloody coffee house bohemians

# I can't recall what I called it last week and
made Tom O Bedlam laugh. I'll have to go look.

edit:// oh yeah "Vexel is another made up word
coined by people who finally admit they did not have a clue what a vector scalable image was but want to make it seem like what they do is something more than digitally assisted colouring book nonsense."
(, Mon 19 May 2008, 16:48, archived)
# Oh you and your vector pedantry :D
I did some vector work last night on Corel Draw and was getting right narked at my curves going all "curly wurly the wrong way". I think that's the technical term?
(, Mon 19 May 2008, 16:51, archived)
# pfft.
you have to learn to keep the pen down ( or left mouse clicked ) as you place the point then drag the handle in the general direction of the line you are following. Curly wurly means you have the wrong handle going the wrong way. It gets easy after some practice.

And again, I don't get pissy about the pictures, just the words that people use to describe them. We need to have laws or we'll end up speaking French.!
(, Mon 19 May 2008, 16:54, archived)
# yeh - those bloody handles :D
Was just using for some design work I occasionally get shoved over my home desk - haven't fired up Corel Draw for yonks

# I am doing painting right now.
but there is not much to see as I have just started.

# I think you should start a new thread with this and give us daily new thread progress reports :P
(, Mon 19 May 2008, 17:09, archived)
# I could
post my iterative saves in a new thread every 30 minutes. I think people would like that.
(, Mon 19 May 2008, 17:11, archived)
# You'd certainly get plenty of replies
(, Mon 19 May 2008, 17:13, archived)
# oh.. corel painter
I still have essentials. I like the idea of the palette.
(, Mon 19 May 2008, 17:12, archived)
# Essentials came
with my Wacom but I've never took it out of the box. I suppose I should do some time just to see the difference as I plan to do a few tutorials when I think I'm capable enough and it would help to know the limitations.

Mixer palette is really good for quick colour picks.
(, Mon 19 May 2008, 17:20, archived)
# I use the word "vexel", and I know what a vector is,
but yes, that's a pretty good statement.
(, Mon 19 May 2008, 16:51, archived)
# that still makes me chuckle :)
(, Mon 19 May 2008, 16:57, archived)
# My mum would approve of that name.
She calls everything George.

Well, except her daughter, obviously.

I like this.
(, Mon 19 May 2008, 16:38, archived)
# So you real name isn't George?
(, Mon 19 May 2008, 16:40, archived)
# I'm one of the few things in her life
with a different name.

# With my parents it was Eric
as in The 'Alibut.
Luckily it was decided I wouldn't be an Eric. Lucky for my initials, anyway.
