Should a lightsaber cast a shadow in bright sunlight do you think?

Yea, can you believe it...
I was just walking along by the lake when I saw your mum and Henry. Quick as a flash, I whipped my camera out and took this shot. * Sorry it is not shopped.

no, its a light source itself.
and its energy so not technically physical.
umm.... i think :)

are you asking really?
if you are then no. it should be a light source that will affect the shadow from the main light source ( as in weaken it ).

Figured as such.
But that got really complicated for me to try and achieve. I'm shit with light and don't know how it would affect the main shadow.
Shouldn't have brought the question up I guess.

simplest thing I can think of is that it will
first create a second shadow to the subjects left, but not be as strong ( as in fade it out ) then select the areas where these overlap and do a gradient fill to transparency on the axis of the source and make it feathery and blurry. But that's just me thinking on the fly and I have to mess with these things to get them right. So yeah, stop asking difficult questions ;)

It will also cause a glow that will illuminate all objects close to it

Humm I'm sure this is nothing like correct
But it's the only thing I can come up with that looks remotely plausible...
back to the drawing board...

Oh yes of course.
I was just dealing with the shadow part. My head had not gotten around to the ambient light cast ;)

I'm no expert on light sabers
but I would imagine it wouldn't chuck out much light compared to that bright sun so I'd say there would be a weak shadow. Woo!
