What do you think is the reason for so many old people being religious?

i think it's because they are going to die soon so they believe in something because if what they at least believe in their religion is true they'll go to heaven, or whatever their version of heaven is for whatever religion they believe. Another thing I think is because many old people come from long time ago where things were different and peope were more religious than in modern times. This is what i think please don't get angry, but you can think on what i think about what this thread makes you thinks.
