# hmm
this works as a "vote, for a change" but we already do vote for who runs the country. It's called a general election. Still, nicely done propaganda is nicely done. :)
(, Mon 17 Aug 2009, 14:44, archived)
# Tell me more about this General Election with 100% voting turnout
(, Mon 17 Aug 2009, 14:46, archived)
# well it would be good as a "get off your arse and vote" image
but this compo isnt really about that, and I find any non-obvious wordplays around the 'vote for a change' slogan to be slightly devious. Also, as a side issue, forcing people to vote when they don't have an opinion is not a good idea if you want meaningful results.
(, Mon 17 Aug 2009, 15:02, archived)
# *NONE OF THE ABOVE*
(, Mon 17 Aug 2009, 15:08, archived)
# well this is an option that seems perfect at first glance
but I feel apathy is probably the only thing getting in the way of the bbc choosing who wins. Once people who don't really have an opinion of their own are forced to vote and have had to go out of their way to the polling station, they are likely to vote for who has been portrayed in a more favourable light. If this situation were to occur with Nick Robinson still on the news I fear I might actually be physically sick.
(, Mon 17 Aug 2009, 15:27, archived)
# one slight problem
we can only form our opinions from what the media feed us...so essentially they're worth very little...gah-never-ending(like sewage)...........:D
(, Mon 17 Aug 2009, 15:11, archived)
# not really
we can also look around and see how things are in the real world. Don't get me started on what the media feeds us though. That tory-boy Nick Robinson is so unashamedly biased it almost hurts to watch. :(
(, Mon 17 Aug 2009, 15:18, archived)
# Yeah, but only about 30% of the electorate bother
and it's the same people who vote for the same partys each election. I'm not sure where i'm going with this.
(, Mon 17 Aug 2009, 14:49, archived)
# the point is that all the idiots who vote for XFactor
can't be arse to vote in the elections that actually mean something in real life.
(, Mon 17 Aug 2009, 14:50, archived)
# yeah, so as a "vote, for a change" type post it works, and well
but I thought it might be trying to be something else like a "government sucks" or a "change how government works" type post.
(, Mon 17 Aug 2009, 14:57, archived)
# O_O
(, Mon 17 Aug 2009, 14:59, archived)
# it also fails as a Pandas for the regency of Gibraltar and Make Tuesdays sherbert dib dab days
but as long as it roughly fitted the campaign it is done for I'm happy
(, Mon 17 Aug 2009, 15:03, archived)
# Every day is a sherbert dib dab day.
yeah, it doesnt bother me as an image challenge entry, just I got that "i'm being conned" feeling with the unavoidable link to the vote for a change campaign. I think by the time this challenge is over I'm going to be pretty fed up with it. Not your fault; just the cumulative effect of all the dodgy agenda-pushing entries I've seen so far I think. :)
(, Mon 17 Aug 2009, 15:15, archived)
# It's very well done
and all that, but I must admit I'm missing the point of this vote for a change thingy, this seems to imply that more voters=more statistical spread of results or something...

I dunno
(, Mon 17 Aug 2009, 14:51, archived)
# I thought we were meant to be mocking MPs.
but the campaign thing is very odd, it's a petition to call for a referendum on something, but the content of the referendum hasn't been decided on yet, and will be decided by randomly picked members of the public. Presumably it just has to be anything as long as it's not what we've already got.
(, Mon 17 Aug 2009, 15:31, archived)
# hahahaha
excellently done
(, Mon 17 Aug 2009, 14:47, archived)
#
Spot on and nicely done.
