# I dunno if anybody here is a fan of, or knows much about, Death Note.
I made a Death Note font using vectors I made of chracters and stuff from the manga.

# emoo
(, Fri 28 Aug 2009, 14:26, archived)
# Haha in what way is it emo?
(, Fri 28 Aug 2009, 14:27, archived)
# You're joking, right?
It's mega-super emo funtimes.
(, Fri 28 Aug 2009, 14:28, archived)
# Maybe a few of the hairstyles could be called 'emo' but Death Note itself is really, really not emo :]
Besides, the hairstyles are based on those of the general japanese population, translated into a manga style.

# Girly + Goth = Emo.
When is the Sláine movie coming out?
(, Fri 28 Aug 2009, 14:36, archived)
# Slaine move?
Seriously?

(Gets blue warpaint ready)

# wee-eeellll. it is in spanish
(, Fri 28 Aug 2009, 14:54, archived)
# WOW!!!
That looks impressive. Clint Langley comes to life (even if it is based on a Bisley epic).

# "I HATE EVERYONE, THUS I SHALL KILL THEM WITH A MAGICAL BOOK."
"AHAHA, I HAVE COVERED MYSELF IN PAPIER MACHE MADE FROM DICTIONARIES, THUS MAKING A RUDIMENTARY WORD ARMOUR."
"I AM CRYING"
"I AM DEAD"

Thend
(, Fri 28 Aug 2009, 14:31, archived)
# I would buy this.
(, Fri 28 Aug 2009, 14:32, archived)
# I don't get that second one.
And I don't think there's much crying in it, but that's about it yeah.

But it's not so much emo as 'loldramatic'
(, Fri 28 Aug 2009, 14:33, archived)
# I'm sorry but magical word armour made of dictionaries is still more plausible than
'kill someone by their name, but you also have to be thinking of their face so it won't accidentally kill someone else'

Well.....couldn't you just think of their face then? It's supposed to be a fucking magic book, why the hell do you even need to know their name?

Japanese idiots
(, Fri 28 Aug 2009, 14:37, archived)
# Because that defeats the object of it being a notebook?
If you could just think of someone's face and kill them, there'd be no need for the notebook.
And not everybody can draw the person they're thinking about exactly as they appear, either.

English idiot.

# Biometrics is not 100% reliable,
so having a two-factor security system for identifying victims of supernatural death doesn't seem unreasonable.

Remember, though: there's always a trade-off between the false-positive and false-negative rates!
(, Fri 28 Aug 2009, 14:45, archived)
# Don't you mean MAGIC BIOMETRICS?
With.....MAGIC SCANNERS....and.....MAGIC!
(, Fri 28 Aug 2009, 14:47, archived)
# Well who cares if you don't like Death Note anyway?
I did TWENTY SIX VECTORS IN A DAY and I think they're pretty damn good, if you don't like the theme you can still appreciate how well done it is :D
(, Fri 28 Aug 2009, 14:49, archived)
# Yeah, yeah, stop interrupting our complaining with your "effort" and "abilities" :)
(, Fri 28 Aug 2009, 14:56, archived)
# :]
(, Fri 28 Aug 2009, 14:57, archived)
# ON THE TRACK I CAN DO ONE HUNDRED EIGHTY VECTORS PER SECOND
BUT THAT'S STILL NOT AS FAST AS SONIC
(, Fri 28 Aug 2009, 15:03, archived)
# OMG LOL
(, Fri 28 Aug 2009, 15:35, archived)
# Emoooooo!

Very good though Clansoul. What would happen if you wrote a death threat in the Death Note font?
(, Fri 28 Aug 2009, 14:30, archived)
# You'd have a series of images with some spaces between them.
(, Fri 28 Aug 2009, 14:32, archived)
# And then they wouldn't even know it was a death threat
GahFuck!
(, Fri 28 Aug 2009, 14:32, archived)

# I accidently got a fishhook caught in my arse cheek and I had to go to the doctor to get it removed.
I don't wish to repeat this.
(, Fri 28 Aug 2009, 14:33, archived)
# Ouch.
Still, at least you caught something big.
(, Fri 28 Aug 2009, 14:36, archived)
#
early on in your fishing career?

before you got the swing of using a rod ?

pffft
(, Fri 28 Aug 2009, 14:37, archived)
# Was this the same kind of "accident" that leads to visits to the emergency room to remove bottles that "accidentally" got shoved up bums?
"I ... er ... slipped in the shower, honest" :)
(, Fri 28 Aug 2009, 14:39, archived)
# you went to the doctor to have your arse removed?

# saw the film
didn't think much of it actually. WTF is the kid doing just killing the FBI agents, there's no remorse and very flimsy motive.

it's about as good as an episode of buffy.
(, Fri 28 Aug 2009, 14:36, archived)
# The films weren't as good, no.
I really like the manga, the motive is and always has been a flimsy cover-up for his want for power, really, but that's not the point of the story.
I think lots of it is really funny, I love the artwork and the 'battle of wits' between L and Kira is quite enjoyable.
At least, in the manga. In the films they ruined it.
(, Fri 28 Aug 2009, 14:39, archived)
# I was wondering why an FBI investigation was being led by someone who looked about 12 and was an idiot.
"YES, I SHALL MAKE HIM MEET WITH ME AND KNOW MY NAME SO THEREFORE IF I DIE IT MUST BE HIM!"

Or alternatively you just just lock him in a cell for 2 weeks with no posessions, notice no-one is dying, search his house and find a book with everyone who died written in it. That's how you do real police work.
(, Fri 28 Aug 2009, 14:50, archived)
# They did that.
Criminals stopped dying for two weeks, then started again.
And the book was concealed in a secret compartment in his desk that would burst into flame if forced into.
(, Fri 28 Aug 2009, 14:56, archived)
# A secret compartment?
This is the FBI for god's sake, I think they can handle some twatty schoolkid putting a book in a secret drawer.

Either way if the book set fire then job done, they then just arrest him for explosive booby trapping, destroying probable evidence, interfering with an investigation etc.
(, Fri 28 Aug 2009, 15:05, archived)
# Better than being executed, divot.
Besides, all the FBI members get killed.
(, Fri 28 Aug 2009, 15:28, archived)
# I like Death Note! woo though!
The films though, saw them this year for the first time.
