my immediate guess, as a marketing cunt, is that it is near-impossible to launch/sell a merchandise range for a character that has no fixed appearance.
BBC Worldwide have a huge and undue influence in this sort of thing these days, I believe.

My 1 year old and my 5 year old liked your animation. My 7 year old said "It was shit!" ;) Great stuff. Yourself and the "Firth" got me into Flash over 10 years ago, cheers :D

I thought that was great, but then I'm 40 years over the target age.
I hope you didn't mention Kafka's Metamorphosis when actually pitching it, that would put most people in TV off - they don't like to think anyone is cleverer than them, it's threatening.
Next time, try getting someone who sounds like John Stewart or Michael MacIntyre to do all the voices. (But don't tell them that's a T.S. Eliot reference)
