Nice dutch newspaper is nice
This is the one of the only nice things I've seen from a European country during this unedifying shitefest of a referendum. A couple more articles like this, rather than French, German and Spanish people saying "fuck off we don't want you anyway" and I could even consider voting.

No it's appealing to the opposite wanky nationalism
The biggest difference is that I'm quite likely to respond positively to someone being overwhelming positive but I'll almost definitely respond negatively to someone being negative (which is BOTH sides of this coat-hanger abortion of a referendum)

Royals, check
Brideshead revisited, check
Stiff upper lip, check,
The fallen, check
that 2nd para could be rejigged into a UKIP manifesto quite easily

as for the positive/negative thing
I imagine in the minds of people voting Leave, every day after will be like when the London Olympics was on. Remain have to counter that with 'negativity' as you call it. I prefer to see it as sane, rational argument

The UK isn't the only country thinking about leaving.
We're just the first to be given a choice.
Once we're gone I suspect the rest of the EU is going to make it harder to leave.

Dear Holland,
If it was just the two of use maybe we could have made it work.
You're nice and friendly with some quite pretty features.
Thing is you want an open relationship and I admit it was exciting for a while but it's gotten out of hand.
More and more people are joining in and quite frankly it's gone from cosy little shag to full on gang bang with some of the new comers being a bit demanding.
And now Turkey wanting to have a go and we all now what they're into.
Hope you find the happiness you deserve Holland.
We'll always have Rome.
Yours'
United Kingdom.
p.s You can have Scotland every other weekend but promise not to just take them to mc donalds.

In case you've forgotten
The EEC was a good thing. It's grown in to the EU, which isn't.
The EU is run solely for the benefit of politicians.
We had a referendum over here a few weeks ago re. an EU treaty. It was soundly thrashed. The political reaction so far has been 'sod the electorate, we go ahead anyway'.
You have a chance to change that. Unlike any of the other poor sods trapped in the EU, you actually get to have a say in this. As it was 76 years ago, we Dutch once again look to the west in the hope of liberation. The UK leaving would open the floodgates and end this political powerfest.
Forget the bs about the economy or migration, nobody knows exactly how that's going to pan out, and anyone whos says they do, lies. This is about sovereignty. Nothing more, nothing less.
Take the power back.

There is no mechanism to send them home, even if they're corrupt, even if they're so mad they cant do their job anymore

The set of politicians that actually care about being re-elected by the UK populace?
The ones that got the largest amount of votes in local elections?
The ones that attend surgery's and have to meet with the voters to discuss issues?
Those politicians that are within egg throwing range?
Too bloody right.

you dont think your Euro MPs care about being reelected?
They certainly got the largest amount of votes, and in a much fairer, more proportional voting system

Yeah... shame they don't have any actual power.
Seeing how EU law is made by the commission. The EU parliament is a pointless and rather expensive sharade.

If 30% turn-out with 60% voting against the trade agreement means a sound thrashing that means Cameron soundly thrashed Labour last year. Oh, wait....
