Almost exclusively films of the superhero / comic book / animated / sci-fi genres it would seem.

nope, mainly weird stuff that doesn't go down well on here (like the ghost thing yesterday)
so I try to stick to only posting the crowd pleasing nonsense trailers that everyone can have a laugh/moan about

I saw the film Life yesterday.
It's not the kind of film I'd usually go to the cinema to see and it was interesting to see that reflected to a certain extent in the trailers shown.

I always wonder what drives people who say "Just saying" after they just said something.
I mean it`s pretty obvious that is what they just did, I wonder if they pointlessly narrate their own life in other areas as much.
"Just walking down the street, just walking into a shop" etc

A very literal chap, challenged by even the least nuanced vagaries of discourse, aren't you?

I like where the soundtrack's going.
I wonder if there's a story.

I fail to get excited over Luc Besson anymore.
Yes, he's been involved in some absolute corkers (Leon, The 5th Element, Nikita) but he's also had his hand in a lot of shite.
Much the same way I used to get excited by Guillermo del Toro putting his name to things until I realised most of it is toss.

Can't help thinking that lots of that looks familiar.
0:20 - Oh look, it's the Millennium Falcon
0:30 - "I wonder if it'll make friends with me"
0:58 - Bet she's a Replicant
1:06 - Aren't Avatars supposed to be blue?
1.30 - Oh look, it's an X-Wing
1:44 - Someone's been watching Babylon 5
Not to mention a bunch of bits that look to have been lifted clean out of his own previous work.

Um - are you kidding? I can't tell.
Valerian is a massively influential series of comic books. The Falcon was accused of being a rip off of its ship design. Beson's been a fan since he was a kid, so he's totally been influenced - so it's only natural that his earlier films should have a load of those elements (geddit).
