Plenty of places online that support shitbag viewpoints unfortunately; yet I don't see any conservatives denouncing this as "not real conservatism".

This is a normal post No, he actually said "Britten fists" - a reference to the allegations about the senior tory ex-MP.

This is a normal post So the best way to "put britain first" is to shoot British people!?
Can we vote to make everyone campaigning for either side leave instead?

This is a normal post Died.... crap.
I think both sides need to calm things down before more of this happens.
Heats been turned up way too high.

If we're in we're not going to forced to give up our spare rooms to house benifit scrounging Romanians and if we're out it's not going to be WW3 with everyone out of work.

Either way it'll be bit different and a lot the same.

This is a normal post Problem is, people have a right to have opinions. Using violence to silence one side or the other never works.
When that mob of people chased, cornered and assaulted a woman who supported Trump, people did not use that as a reason to stop opposing him. I suspect this will have a similar non-effect.

This is a normal post As depressing as being pelted with eggs is; I wouldn't compared to being murdered.
If this is what you're talking about:

theamericanmirror.com/video-agitators-pelt-female-trump-supporter-eggs-bottles/

...sorry; I just think it's important to keep perspective on the gravity of actual murder.

[edit: and if you look at the comments section to that link; the very second comment endorses gun violence against the left. That's the point; hatred is grown within these far-right conservative subcultures]

This is a normal post Well it seems to have worked well for Europe.
Or would you rather live in a sectarian hellhole like Syria? They could have done with a little more nationalism.

This is a normal post Nationalism isn't great
When it's for a bunch of silly reasons that people can't admit or see clearly like race and fear of seeming racist and becoming a racial reactionary extremist instead as appears the case here.

This is a normal post Apparently the guy was Schizophrenic.
So more of a horrible and completely avoidable accident rather than some mindless violent killing out of genuine hatred or spite.

This is a normal post I probably suspect a dreadful nutter attack who had some issue with the MP over who knows what
Is not the first time MPs or their staff have been attacked by people with mental health issues. Terrible news regardless. Time for calm.

This is a normal post As a Schizophrenic I find your viewpoint insulting, and overly simplistic.
All individuals are informed by the culture around them; and online gravitate towards cultures and cultural groups they feel agreement and a sense of identity with.

That is the nature of this kind of extremism. The "lone nutter" explanation is generally looked down on as an insufficient explanation - and I think that's the case here.

Hatred is never without a context, it is grown in a culture. Changing our viewpoints and explanations can help curb and understand events like this - even if we can't understand the people who do this sort of thing.

This is a normal post Don't get me wrong.
I'm not painting all schizophrenics as violent or aggressive individuals. But you're reaching a bit if you're trying to suggest that his schizophrenia had nothing to do with the attack. I'd hazard a guess that this particular individual's schizophrenia had very much to do with it.
(, Fri 17 Jun 2016, 11:07, , Reply)
This is a normal post I suppose;
we'll have to agree to disagree. That said; I wasn't worried about you painting schizophrenics as violent. I was worried about you painting them as not culpable for their own actions in all and any circumstances (a kind of "oh he's just a child in an adults body" viewpoint. That sort of view is only true under a certain set of conditions. At any rate; I think we all have a culpability to what sort of views with foster within our communities.
