That's what I got
Apparently socially I'm way out there on the left, which makes me a bit concerned how right-wing the US may be as a whole.

I don't know if I feel good about that, as I don't really understand American politics *meh*

The average breakdowns are interesting
Hardly any movement between the demographic groups.
18-29 and 65+ are both clustered around the middle for example.
I'm guess the numbers of participants are huge, but feels a little like those kids are jaded.
Far left on all three counts here.

I'm having some difficulty answering these
as I know fuck all about the state of things in the US.
'There needs to be stricter laws and regulations to protect the environment.'
Well, it sounds all very nice and good to say 'AGREE!', but if I recall correctly the US has thousands of square miles of protected nature reserve and the fallout from things such as that gulf of mexico oil spill is usually pretty big (even if not actually outlined in law).
But isn't more regulation always good? Well, not if you want to make a bonfire for your barbecue, or not have wolves eating all your sheep.
It seems that people's perceptions of their own political leanings affect the quiz rather than the quiz affecting their perception, especially when the people taking the quiz come from another country and are merely giving general answers (e.g. 'environment good!')

yup
you'd need to be an expert in US policy to make an informed decision on some of those questions

• The growing number of newcomers from other countries threaten traditional American customs and values
Of course I completely agree with the question but I also consider newcomers to America as generally a hard working people who set up businesses and help the economy as they have done in the past.
Of course American customs might be compromised with a influx of people from other customs but do I support this? Yes I do but the question indicated I don't if I answer with completely agree.

I suppose the key there is in the word threaten.
It's usually pejorative, they seem to be assuming that people will see it negatively.

Crikey. I answered a few questions that I thought were a bit to the right
yet I came out as left of Liberal Democrat.
I suppose it depends on your perspective. I've always thought that what the UK considers centrist, the USA considers raving leftist.

Note that, thanks to their endorsement of things like the NHS, the Tories are (at least publicly) to the left of the Dems.

that depends
on whether you are going by what they say before an election, or by what they do after it.
looking at you Health and Social Care Act.

Answering as honestly as I could, and I don't always tow a traditional liberal line, and was churned out here
I guess my stance on same sex marriage, healthcare, the environment, immigration not effecting American identity, God, and abortion, make me a raving liberal in North American eyes; which is tiresome that some of those things are deemed such major issues in life.
I even thought I might be pushing it to the right, by completely disagreeing with The government should help more needy people even if it means going deeper in debt question, which is one issue where I probably fall straight into the fold of libertarianism. Live within your means, I mean defence spending is mental
