so that the contents of a deleted post are replaced with something like "This post has been deleted" rather than just having it disappear and take all the replies with it.
Or, for a laugh, make it so that the 'deleted' post is completely unaltered, but locked against any further editing.

There are too many and it's shit.

The search feature isn't working anymore, eg:
b3ta.com/search/links
Just goes to a blank page.
Cheers!

The "view older links" links on b3ta.com/links/ takes you back one page further than it should. Currently it takes you to b3ta.com/links/archive/4568/ but there's a number of posts too new to be on that page and too old to be on the main one. Those posts are already on b3ta.com/links/archive/4569/ which would seem to be a better target.

It'd be nice to have that notification to remind me I need to reply.

It's often taking 30 seconds to load a page. It's like being on dial-up again, but without the comforting boop-boop-weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeskkrrrrrrrrrssssssssssssssssssssssssssh noises.

an email letting me know if someone has commented on my post....
even if it is some sarcastic cnut making a pointless / irelevant / nasty comment...

So that all the QOTW posts are sorted by popularity rather than just displaying one page of the best 30?
I'd like to see how naff some of my posts are

Obviously your vote shouldn't count, but sometimes I see something in the post-question top-answer rundown that I'd like to remember, and read again in the future. Clicking, so it shows in my profile, would be the easiest way.
I sometimes click "like" for my benefit, y'know...

Somewhere you can put up questions like "Any advice on how to simulate the Plastic Bullet and Hipstamatic iPhone Apps using Photoshop?" just to take a completely random idea as an example.

...a few times in recent days, I've been reminded of things featured in newsletters from ages ago and wanted to access them. google's been rubbish in the main - a lot of them have been blog pages and the like which don't really come up. It would be good to be able to search the narrative of past newsletters for keywords to have a chance of digging this stuff out, without having to open them up individually.
Or am I being thick and this is already a feature you can do?

does anything ever upload? i've quit using b3ta image hosting and am now using b3tards all the time.
if it's never going to work again, you need to:
a) remove the "Do you need image hosting? Switch to image mode." line
b) create links to image hosting services such as b3tards, tinypic, imageshack.
new users will quickly become confused and think that the site is broken and never post any pictures.
also, do any staff even READ this page?
( , Thu 25 Nov 2010, 6:24, 1 reply, 14 years ago)

i know a lot of people will hate the idea of this, but let's be honest - b3ta needs more members and more readers, this would be an easy way to get more traffic to the site. pretty much every site has these now for a good reason.

Essentially I'd like to be able to maximise my browser window and have a massive swaying (giggling) magenta penis appear on the screen for b3t-raping my colleagues

That way you won't need to scan through board/talk/links every 5 minutes to find and read any new additions to the current threads. This would allow conversations to proceed more easily.
EDIT: Just discovered the option to highlight recent posts on the left. I'm quite new here. Still, a page devoted to the most recent replies might still be nice.

kind of like facebook does. i.e. you don't have to keep reloading the page, but it updates with the latest posts periodically and notifies you of replies to your posts.
