Problem - need answers from B3tards
A friend of mine has fallen in love with her flatmate who only sees her as a friend. What should she do?
(, Wed 16 Dec 2009, 1:06, 19 replies)
Do as I say, not as I do...
If she really believe that her feelings are strong enough that she would be prepared to risk being turned down/hurt then she should go for it, not mess around, be honest and up-front and see what happens.

But she also needs to accept that if the he says no, then it's not going to happen and she needs to accept that and move on.

Get him drunk
Have drunken sex with him.
Use resulting guilt the next day to force him into a relationship.

Problem solved.

Alcohol the cause of and answer to all of life's problems.

Move out
You don't screw the crew

Now this
Is a good point...

Try to ignore it.
Let it fester and grow until it eats away at her very being until she can't take it anymore and she makes a totally innapropriate pass at him thus ruining the friendship forever.

surprise sex
but seriously, don't listen to such nonsenses as 'dont screw the crew'. fuck it, screw the crew, what's the worst that can happen. life's too short. for all your know she may well be 'the one'.

Do the skipper...
...like a kipper. Then go down with the ship. We salute you.

I am the skipper
And currently debating this one myself.

If she knows they only see her as a friend,
She either needs to make this flatmate VERY aware of her presence via the use (or under-use) of dressing gowns etc. sitting too close during a film that kind of thing. If she just gets her tongue down his/her throat it could all go the wrong kind of tits up.
Make them want her.
I'd say it's imperative she finds out if she has a chance before making a move. Have you broached the subject with the flatmate?
(, Wed 16 Dec 2009, 10:27, closed)
Hmm
The best way to make yourself unattractive is to look desperate. If he's not interested then declaring your love for him won't work. You gotta make him want you. Depends what kind of guy he is, maybe just being a good friend to him until he sees you in a different light would work, maybe waiting in his bed would work. You know him best!

Actions speak louder...
... wait until he goes for a shower, then let herself into the bathroom and join him in the shower.

If he's not up for it, claim she was just trying to save money on the water bill.

well
She should not ask the internet for advice, for starters.
(, Wed 16 Dec 2009, 12:04, closed)
.
You should ask a girl in a bar this very question. Perfect opener.
(, Wed 16 Dec 2009, 12:06, closed)
She should
wander round the flat naked at every available opportunity, to gauge his reaction.
(, Wed 16 Dec 2009, 12:07, closed)
Give up.
If she has made it obvious and he hasn't fucked her yet he is either gay and polite, or really does not fancy her in the slightest.

Is she deformed in any way? I only ask because most straight single men will shag anything.

Personally
I would ask a load of autistic people and then follow their advice.
(, Wed 16 Dec 2009, 16:49, closed)
So, let's get this straight....
...she's a girl (fit?).

He's a bloke?

Turn up naked, bring beer.

Job done.

thanks all
Good advice all. Thank you.

The overwhelming advice seems to involve nakedness and lager. I will pass on the advice.

It's not possible
She can't possibly have "fallen in love with him" - falling in love is not one sided. So all she has is a crush, and nothing, absolutely nothing, looks more unattractive. Buy Ben and Jerry's ice cream, keep it in the freezer and be prepared for the snivelling. Or put the lights out, hide behind the sofa and wait for it to blow over in a couple of years.
