Smaug says: Ricky Gervais. Lesbian pr0n. Going into a crowded bar, purely because it's crowded. All these things seem to be popular with everybody else, but I just can't work out why. What leaves you cold just as much as it turns everyone else on?

At the height of it's popularity, I seemed to be the only person in the country that didn't think it was the funniest show on TV. Surely I can't be the only person who thinks it is utter, utter toss?

Never did find it funny, only mildly amusing in places and that's about it.

I can take it or leave it, but Mrs Vaino detests it. Mind you, she is a Septic and therefore officially Does Not Understand The British Sense Of Humour.

Two grown men dress up as fat people, the disabled, the old and the homosexicals. Well done, what biting satire.

This show is a load of fetid whale spunk....
(By that I mean its not very good).

but then I don't like League of Gentlemen, The Office or Peep Show either.

But i LOVED the surreal sketch that was quite Morris-esque in its delivery. The strange man who visits numerous shops asking for odd things like Pirate memroy games for children aged 3-5 etc.
That was the ONLY good sketch.

indeed, it was curiously funny in a relatively smirk-free show

Then I saw another couple of episodes and realised that they just do the same sketches every week with only a couple of minor cosmetic changes.

and over again.
I wouldn't mind if the sketches actual contained a semblence of something with humour in it, but I haven't seen one that has yet.
I know, let's get a bloke in a wheelchair who isn't really disabled and goes off to do things that able bodied people can do when his carer isn't looking. Let's do it the next week as well, and the week after that for four fucking years!
Wasn't even remotely funny the first time. Only a fool would continue doing something that doesn't work the first time.

and also the medias love affair with it; you'd think Wallaims and Lucas had cured AIDS and world hunger.

as soon as series 1 episode 2 was aired all the jokes were stretched paper thin.

than the Catherine Tate show, which is about the best that can be said for it. I would quite happily claw that ginger freaks eyes out.

Most TV these days is absolute drivel designed to evoke the clapping reflex in the chav seal. The only actually half funny show I have seen lately is how not to live your life, but only because I know people (or may in fact am someone) who live like that.
