This photo was taken earlier today from the Northbound carriageway of the M74 near Abington (junction of the A702, about 40 miles from Edinburgh). I swear to god I haven't photoshopped it. The only alteration I have made is to crop it smaller. Look it up on google maps if you want more proof.

Not just local legend
it's well known further north as well- I once broke down near there and described my position to the people I was supposed to be meeting as "just next to that massive hillside cock-forest". "next to the motorway on the way up from England?" "Yup, that's the one."

Where did it come from? Is it a natural formation or did someone cut it into that shape- and if they did was it supposed to look phallic?

Ahhh every time I've driven up to Glasgow
