Moon Monkey says: Turn into Jeremy Clarkson for a moment, and tell us about the things that are so obviously wrong with the world, and how they should be fixed. Extra points for ludicrous over-simplification, blatant mis-representation, and humourous knob-gags.

to be put through a rigorous grilling as to why it should be made, what artistic merit it has,and if it cant be justified under any other reason beyond 'we at the studios have shit for brains and contempt for the audience' then it doesnt go ahead.

I'm just sick of all this constant regurgitation of ideas. rob zombie's one of the worst offenders, the dull unoriginal c**t.

So very much this.
Why do they need to remake The Dam Busters, for example? In what possible way could a new version be better - aside from the special effects, which weren't the point of the story in any case?
The Italian Job completely missed the point of the first film, with no heart and no humour.
Perhaps the most pointless of all was the shot-for-shot, word-for-word remake of Psycho by Gus Van Sant.

It's really annoying when remakes are different to, or the same as the original.

What annoys me is bad dialogue.
Unfortunately, while I really like the original Star Wars films, and Where Eagles Dare my fists itch every time Harrison Ford/Clint Eastwood say "We've got company", "I've got a bad feeling about this" etc.
