For no reason whatsoever (other than that I saw it the other day) I have spent today with the theme tune to CBeebies’ ‘learn to draw’ programme ‘Squiglet’ relentlessly playing in my head. It’s driving me to distraction.
What’s playing on your internal jukebox today?
On a barely-related note I cannot recommend the LP ‘Growers of Mushroom’ (original copies £1500-2000) by 70s heavy-psych-rock nobodies Leaf Hound highly enough. Often so-called ‘lost classics’ are nothing of the sort – they’re frequently rare because they weren’t very good so no-one bought it upon release. That, or people who have milked the ‘big’ releases are so desperate to hear something ‘new’ that they rave over some obscurity simply because they’ve not played it to death. Captain Beyond’s much-vaunted self-titled first LP fits this latter category, I feel.
Not so this little beauty – it’s like having an extra Zeppelin/Deep Purple/Free LP that you have never heard before. If you like heavy 70s rock you’ll fucking love this, I assure you. I give it eight Tractors out of ten – praise indeed.

Of course, if you’d rather nom on down to the latest Maiden release then don’t bother yourself, nothing to see here, move along.
Alt: What the fuck is wrong with B3ta these days? Loading pages etc is like trying to look at porn on dialup sometimes.

but a fucking good one on Italian meister-label Akarma. Those fuckers have reissued some rare-ass classics in recent years, such as Twink's legendary 'Think Pink' LP.

I do like '70's rock. But stop dissing Maiden.
In terms of ear-worms last night I had 'Fish heads, fish heads, I love fish heads' going round and round purposefully put there by a friend
Alt: I think even cr3 is a bit puzzled by it

Perhaps the AMAZON LINK in my post might help?
I shall never stop 'dissing' 'Maiden' as long as I draw breath.

women in videos, with whom you will have no interaction = better when they are hot
women with whom you will have some interaction = better if hot, but not mandatory as long as there are other good characteristics

It's like a tour-de-force of prog-rock idioms, nary an odd box remaining unticked. Can't decide if it's genius or madness or something else entirely.
Alt: I assumed (because it seemed to start when the post number was around 995000-ish) that some code-helmet was spamming trying to get the one-millionth post, hence slowing things down like molasses in the wintertime. b3ta's still only moving as fast as an asthmatic ant with heavy shopping now though - so much for that theory ...

A harmless novelty, albeit a technically impressive one. (But then a lot of progressive rock bands have a song fitting those categories to their name...)

samples that TFF tune and is one of the most innovative, trippy and downright heavy* 80s hip hop records ever recorded. I fucking LOVE IT.
It also has a superb beatbox breakdown in it, which is always, ALWAYS, a plus.

(it's called 'Surfin' Bird' by the way)
It's a great piece of frat/surf rock - I've versions by the Trashmen and the incomparable Ramones (whose choices of cover version material were almost always fucking superb).
It contains an interpolation of The Rivingtons: "Papa-Oom-Mow-Mow" if you care. Which you undoubtedly do not.

And Surfin' Bird gives them the panacea of a more frenetic musical backing and frenzied delivery, which I think does them the world of good.

Not only have I got a 2 hour lunch to make up but they're digging up the road outside the business park. The lights they've put up are making everyone queue up for 7-8 minutes before changing and letting most of the traffic out - then it all builds up again. Dunno if I can be arsed to sit in a jam for 10 minutes when I could be getting paid.

I remember once years ago, having a bad turn and thinking I was going to die. I just layed on the bed waiting to cark it and eventually I think I just fell asleep and woke up fine. I know it wasn't a panic attack because I've had them and this was different. Never called an ambulance or anything which in hindsight was a bit strange.
