Pol-Gov is clearly a made up AS level for pretentious twats like you

(, Fri 15 Jul 2011, 14:30, 1 reply, 15 years ago)
Pol-Gov is an important subject to study don't you think?
Even if you're not going to do it you'd want that option for A-Levelers?
(, Fri 15 Jul 2011, 14:32, Reply)
I really don't know if you're being serious here.

(, Fri 15 Jul 2011, 14:35, Reply)
I hate the Levellers.

(, Fri 15 Jul 2011, 14:36, Reply)
*shocked*

(, Fri 15 Jul 2011, 14:36, Reply)
Me too.
*is gobsmacked*

In true wanky awful namedrop style,
my brother and I had a lift from them in their van when they played in Kingsworthy Village Hall (a couple of years before they had a record deal). We had to distract the staff in Peter Dominic so they could shoplift some booze (because they were WELL HARD TRAVELLERS) - they got about four cans between them, the hopeless benders.

Even I find this anecdote hideously dull.

(, Fri 15 Jul 2011, 14:43, Reply)
Your anecdote finds you hideously dull.

(, Fri 15 Jul 2011, 14:44, Reply)
I might still have a cassette of that gig if you're interested.
They were better then than when they were trying to sell records.
(, Fri 15 Jul 2011, 14:50, Reply)
The missus would probably appreciate that.

(, Fri 15 Jul 2011, 14:52, Reply)
I'll have a look for it.

(, Fri 15 Jul 2011, 14:54, Reply)
I'm not shocked he hates them
any more than he's going to be shocked by my liking them.
(, Fri 15 Jul 2011, 14:46, Reply)
I like them also.
Better live than on CD.
(, Fri 15 Jul 2011, 14:47, Reply)
This is not surprising.
You are clearly a man of refinement ans taste, unlike that oik Boyce.
(, Fri 15 Jul 2011, 14:48, Reply)
Indeed.
He does have nice teeth, though.
(, Fri 15 Jul 2011, 14:54, Reply)
yeah, well they all do
on his side of the Thames.

one of the few bands I've seen in Swansea
lots of fun and the exact crowd I expected (ie, slightly hippy indie kids who used to go to The Zone)
(, Fri 15 Jul 2011, 14:50, Reply)
I say kids
I mean people my age (about 27 at the time)
(, Fri 15 Jul 2011, 14:51, Reply)
I don't suppose you've ever come across Lady Winwoods Maggot?
They are rather good, but I think they are local to the south coast.
(, Fri 15 Jul 2011, 14:52, Reply)
INNUENDO OVERLOAD!
...no?
(, Fri 15 Jul 2011, 14:54, Reply)
Sadly all the stuff on youtube is live so the sound's a bit crap

They are way better than this in person. Their cover of Wearing Purple was what got me into Gogol Bordello.
(, Fri 15 Jul 2011, 15:00, Reply)
The political movement?

(, Fri 15 Jul 2011, 14:43, Reply)
No, the band.

(, Fri 15 Jul 2011, 14:44, Reply)
Ay up DG!
How's tricks?
(, Fri 15 Jul 2011, 14:44, Reply)
Not bad, ta.
Still enjoying my period of not working. I'm sure it'll get dull soon enough, though. I am currently thinking about going to buy some new fish for the aquarium.
(, Fri 15 Jul 2011, 14:46, Reply)
Good stuff.
You keeping your eyes peeled for future employment?
(, Fri 15 Jul 2011, 14:48, Reply)
Not at the moment.
It is my intention to have a few weeks off (not even signing on yet). I'll start looking after about a month, though, but I have to be a choosy about applying for posts with certain organisations within 6 months as I may have to pay some of my redundancy back.
(, Fri 15 Jul 2011, 14:50, Reply)
Really? I didn't know that.
Seems a bit harsh, surely you've earned that redundancy?
Enjoy the time off though.
(, Fri 15 Jul 2011, 14:52, Reply)
It's if you are employed by an employer
who operates under the principal civil service pension scheme. Bit of a bugger really.

I may sign up with an Agency initially to avoid this potential embuggerance.
(, Fri 15 Jul 2011, 14:53, Reply)
Ah, ok. That's a massive cunt though.
I found my current jobby-job through an agency and it was all nice and quick.
(, Fri 15 Jul 2011, 14:55, Reply)
If I happen to be placed with a PCSPS employer via an Agency
then they can't touch the money. An ex colleague did this, and it worked out fine for her, plus she was made permanent after ten months. Bingo.
(, Fri 15 Jul 2011, 15:01, Reply)
As a staunch royalist I disapprove thoroughly.
